@FrankCastle @Crab Every time you guys talk, I always think I should go back to BSD. Earlier today I was thinking, "Well, why not?" :-) We need a BSD thread here at LET. Maybe I will try starting a BSD thread tomorrow. . . .

The question is not whether you should go back, the question is why did you leave in the first place?!

MetalVPS absolutely needs dedicated and permanent BSD-based product lines!

FreeBSD is facing a lot of exciting development and let's not forget version 15 is right in horizon!

    So is OpenBSD 7.6!

When it comes to other BSDes, I have to admit that last time I touched either Open or Net was back in the late 90s. FreeBSD was kind of love at first sight and I haven't looked back at all. I should dedicate some time in the near future to see how's the world on the other side of the fence. The grass might not be greener, but could be showing some other colors and it would be a fun little project to try them out again

Me personally, I tend to run FreeBSD for hyperscale projects. OpenBSD is of course for security stuff and then NetBSD is fun to get running on toasters, refrigerators or any other off the wall device you can come up with. Those are the colors I see anyway.

  • The hoodie looks amazing. Luckily my package was still in one piece even though it was little ripped. I already went through one debate on who's going to wear it though. Thanks @crunchbits !

  • @crunchbits boss, will the 6GB "年兽" chicken be replenished?

I want OKC live and customer facing in February. Everything has been in place, except us.

Yeah, we’ll put a few up in OKC for existing customers.

    More are inbound

Excellent. One more will be very useful in OKC. Thanks for keeping the momentum going on this thread, and also opening up the upcoming OKC option. Also kudos for the clever marketing and top provider voting strategy, which BTW, I'm guessing it's down to you or @jar for #1, but I haven't counted the votes.

    if @jar wins im quitting

Don't take the rankings so seriously , we all know the rankings are just the joke

  • Hey Capt. Crunchbits! BLACK FRIDAY is a comin' up right quick and wondering if @crunchbits will be in the mix, perhaps offering more free firearms, live chickens, and sports cars this year? Or is 2024 going to be an off year? Asking for a friend.

Can you love more than one person, though?

    **What is black friday? **

_Ah, Black Friday—the day of intense sacrifices for tech bargains! Web hosting companies and VPS sellers everywhere don their holiday cloaks and proclaim, "Our servers are 90% off! For the low price of sanity, you too can get a lifetime of 1-click WordPress installs!"

It's that time of year when "up to 99% uptime" promises feel oddly comforting, especially when coupled with servers that may or may not crash the second your site goes viral. But no worries! For a mere $1.99 per month, you can experience what might almost be premium service if you’re willing to wait a casual 45 minutes for support chat.

Server sellers join the Black Friday frenzy with deals even the stingiest data hoarder can’t ignore. Who doesn’t want to spend the holiday buried under “30 days free” trials and “limited time only” SSD upgrades? After all, nothing warms the heart like wondering if your site will survive the next traffic spike.

Meanwhile, VPS hosting sellers invite you into the exclusive world of “cloud computing” with deals on plans you can't possibly understand without a PhD in networking. The catch? Their "special offer" gives you half the processing power of your phone, with a dazzling 128 MB of RAM. Truly, what a steal!

In the end, Black Friday in web hosting is a cherished tradition, a dance of “amazing deals” and “unbeatable prices” that almost make you forget what you’re paying for: a dream of stability, speed, and support that’s as elusive as, well, a real Black Friday bargain._

I was wondering if you currently have any discounts on VPS plans with monthly payment options. I'm looking for a VPS with 2 CPUs, 2GB of RAM, and 20GB SSD storage.
