    1. rDns? Any port block?
    2. If I buy two vm, will they be on the same node or across nodes? If they are on the same, possible to move one to another node?

    Thanks for the questions!

    • Reverse DNS can be configured from within our portal.
    • We block outgoing SMTP; if you need it open, let us know purpose and how it will be used and we will consider opening it.
    • Our hypervisor selection algorithm will do everything possible so as to your VMs are not in the same physical server.

Thank you for letting us know! I've informed our developers so that they can take a look at this issue.

  • Offtopic but quite interesting (requesting guru @dev_vps): is "Hyper-V Enlightenments" have any impact on "real work/actual perfomance/name it" on Windows Guests?
Will Windows dramatically work better with that feature enabled?

Yes, they allow the Windows guest to better communicate with the underlying hardware, when in conjunction with drivers that are aware of these "hyper-v enlightenments".

Windows 2012 Server and Windows 8 and later natively take advantage of these, as long as the virtualization platform offers them to the guest...

And to add, modern Linux kernels can also take advantage of these...

No; we have so much RAM capacity available that we decided to make 2GBs of RAM the minimum...

Also, some more modern Linux operating systems, such as Centos 9 or AlmaLinux 9, run out of RAM when yum updates are running in a server with 1GB of RAM.

And of course, Windows doesn't like 1GB of RAM either...

Let me rephrase... if you operate Windows well, yes, it will work fine in 1GB of RAM. I've also been using Windows servers since the NT days...

But many clients start loading it up with programs running simultaneously and believe it will operate super fast with just 1GB of RAM.

So, to avoid the constant tech support issues related to that, we now force our Windows virtual servers to a minimum of 4GBs of RAM.

I agree totally. Windows OS is pretty resource optimized, if user knows how to use it.

I can run Windows OS along with MS SQL Server Express database server on a 1 GB VPS. This is not possible on 1 GB Linux based OS VOS.

It amazingly is quite optimized. I am a Linux guy, but I honestly can say that Microsoft has done a great job with their line of Windows servers. They are efficient and very stable.

I was quite happy when Powershell came out. It has helped us script a lot of stuff in all the Windows servers we use internally... it's great that Microsoft has adopted being friendly to power users and with Linux...

We have some large Windows based clients on dedicated machines. They are quite happy with their setups... it has been quite stable.
