Just out of curiosity, what are the reasons that you even considered a move to Sweden?
I've ran companies in Sweden as well as other countries and I can not imagine why one would chose Sweden if given a choice, the taxes and regulations are horrible.
As a citizen I love Sweden, as a company/employer it is the worst.
The way ISOs work is slightly complicated - because we stream the ISO from the closest mirror. As we add more mirrors, it becomes more complicated. The end result is that it is easy to keep an updated ISO library, instead of updating 100s of nodes around the world.
If you see issues, please open a ticket and we'll check what's going on. Sydney was the latest mirror to get added, along with the snapshots.
I can't go into too much detail, but one of our partner's father ran the biggest construction company in a particular small town, and had a very good relationship with banks - meaning unlimited access to capital at ~1% APR.
HostHatch has grown at 10-20% over the last 11 years. Last year, it grew around 110%. This year we're on the road to grow at a similar rate as last year. The capital requirements are huge and we're often out of stock, and we do not want to bring in investors with equity, and keep it a small business with control over our decisions.
True, and I am sorry for that. Constructive feedback should always be taken well, and I apologize if this was not done. But you can see where some of those feelings might stem from. The mods decided to keep the thread in public, I assume for some extra drama/views.

Do you allow moving VPS from one location to another? For example - from Chicago, IL to London, England.
Yes. For a location change, a $15 USD fee is charged for promo servers. It is free for standard services. This includes removing and recreating the server (not moving the data).
Both depend on availability.

Swedish corporate tax is 20.6 %, in the US, it’s 21 %
And following Swedish regulations isn’t particularely hard, depending on what you do of course
Income tax dosen’t matter, not based on where the company is registered anyway
And the KF accounts are very good tax wise to invest corporate profits in

Arbetsgivaravgift is another ~30%, semesterersättning another ~10%, you cant really fire people without getting in a fight with the union and having to pay them a shitload of money for not doing their job.
I did not say it was hard, I said they were horrible. Sweden is awesome if you are sick or lazy, if you want to work hard and earn money it's not.
@rcy026 you simply have no idea what you’re talking about, you’re now talking about taxes related to income. This will depend on where HostHatch staff is living. Where the company is registered directly affects the corporate tax rate, and that’s lower in Sweden than in the US.
So, quite objectively, your point about taxes is moot.

The business climate in Sweden is good. That’s it.
One of the company's co-owners, the tech guy (Emil), is Swedish if memory serves me correctly.
But if the company isn’t registered in Sweden he won’t have to pay swedish income taxes1!!1!1!
And if the company is registered in Sweden, american staff might unionize but if the company is registered in the US swedish staff won’t dare to unionize!1!1!1!!
It would be funny though if staff @ HH (I guess they’re like ~10 total?) unionized & went out on a strike😆
I beg to differ. I've had businesses in Sweden, Norway, UK and Germany, and Sweden is by far the most expensive and bureaucratic of them.
And naturally, when I talk about employing people I take for granted that you employ them in the country that the company is registered in. Otherwise the discussion gets pretty irrelevant immediately. But if your claim is that Sweden has a good business climate as long as all your employees are living in other countries, sure, we can discuss that. Kind of a weird claim though.
No, you’re being weird. HH obviously don’t just employ where they’re registered, and, they obviously don’t plan to kick everybody out not living in Sweden if they were to proceed with being registered in Sweden.
The question is about where to incorporate, not where to hire all of their staff.

Most importantly, if such a small company (in terms of staff) seriously risks the staff unionizing & striking, they’re doing something terribly wrong, and I don’t think they are

Since you are Swedish I am sure you know that the union can fuck with you even if your staff is not even members of the union. Almost every fight involving the union is instigated by the union itself, not by employees.
Yes, unions often target small hosting companies of 10 staff members with zero union members in them. This is common and a cause for concern.
If HostHatch is registered in the US, but hire staff in Sweden still, this cannot occur thankfully.
