So, @online7237 .. how this ended?

I won one of the Paypal cases. I'm waiting for 3 others. €1,247.12, €27.51, €15.00 are the amounts.

Incidentally, this is a lie and can be refuted, we have (as already communicated here in the thread) fully refunded both orders that were only partially delivered.

Paypal said they ruled in my favor. The other amounts are still being reviewed by Paypal.

If they refunded it, PayPal will say that they rule in your favor.

PayPal cases are never resolved within a few days, it can usually take a few weeks for them to review it.

Do you have credit promo for a new user? We are looking for a DO replacement for some of our projects. Currently looking at Lightnode, it is better to have other option.

Glad to hear it! Whilst I am far from a crypto fan, some of the abuse you've received on this forum for merely expecting the product received to match the product sold and executing your consumer rights is deplorable, as a dedicated core user you would expect no impact on any neighbors so I can't even reason with the greater good argument that some LET users are playing that crypto miners make everyone suffer. Just re-read some of them, wow, seems you have got one special unhinged kid in a real breakdown state..

Well done for staying the course and ultimately succeeding against this fraud, I'm sure the remaining amounts will eventually be returned. Meanwhile, the community will endlessly debate about how to make 1+1 = 3 at certain price points rather than calling a spade a spade..

It probably is. @CherryServers hasn't come through with the $11/y unmetered APAC VPS promo they promised us though, which i feel is outrageous.

Very good support and network, would say yes.

@dataforest isn't the idea behind DDoS protection that the server stays reachable/online?

This is not a support thread, we have hundreds of tickets every day, it is best to contact our support for deactivation. Blackfriday will take place on both labels, but no flash deals here.

Sure, but I don't know which customer it is and what exactly happened, as I said this is not a support thread.

Avoro ddos protection makes your servers unreachable without any ddos.
    False positive immediately.

Also, I was unable to connect to the remote database on a single IP.

They put the IP of that database for permanent mitigation. Then they blocked the server itself.
Well, there were so many headache :D

I already dropped these servers; it was 5 months ago, bought 9 servers on Black Friday.

This problem occurred on every server. It randomly turns off the network for 30 minutes and then releases. Or you need to contact support to remove mitigation.

So I think the OP has not reached this problem :D
Luckily flee with refund. On 300 vps this would be insane.

Maybe you did something very bandwidth intensive which (falsely) triggered the DDoS protection?
But I think that it's unlikely that this is common as when that would be so, there surely would be many complaints.

Certain providers offer comprehensive DDoS protection by either employing null IP addressing or completely shutting down the server. This approach ensures that the attacker perceives the server as being offline, prompting them to cease their attacks. However, it is advisable to seek an alternative provider that implements a different type of DDoS protection, such as filtering mechanisms, which can effectively mitigate attacks while maintaining server availability.
So based on the topic dedicated cores are not dedicated, DDoS protection is not protection 🤣🤣🤣

Again: what is the ticket number?

In addition, we only had the Arbor at the time, which is not inline and also not symmetrical, of course it then authenticates the TCP connections as part of active mitigation, which starts when the traffic is too high. We now use our own solution, which no longer sends resets in the event of an attack and/or large data downloads and therefore no connections are lost. However, Windows RDP can actually handle resets well, so that you only have to reconnect.

In addition, the customer can activate/deactivate DDoS protection in our interface at any time, so that the respective customer can always decide for themselves what they want or don't want.

What is wrong in any case is that the network simply stops working completely.

But that's typical of LET, you have no idea but you just “slap” it.

We will comment on the OP again after the Paypal case has been concluded.

    Ticket 354084

Maybe because connected to proxies, but sometimes it was on idle servers with single connection to remote database.

I've used many providers and never seen this issue. Now, I have been on Hetz for half a year, and there has been no single mitigation. Everything is the same. Works like a clock.

But I am planning to buy next black friday )

  • dataforestdataforest Member, Host Rep

I found the ticket. We deactivated the auto-mitigation for your servers (which you "forgot" in your accusations) and you even continued to use the servers for 3 months afterwards, so it can't have been that bad after all.

I've encountered a similar issue previously with a different German provider. It appears that many of these providers engage in deceptive practices.

I kept these servers because of price (4.5 euro), then dropped.

Look at this ticket again 354084

In the last comment, I said :

    Hello,

    Again this problem on 194.107.126*

Can you disable all possible mitigation.

I initially opened the ticket and reported problem on the same IP.

    This one:
    194.107.126.*

Myabe Hetzner does not like this IP, or it is blocked by your anti-ddos system.

So you re-enabled it again? Why?

Is that (and the new DDoS protection) a paid addon or is it included by default?
I'm in any case looking forward to the new vServer's at PHP-Friends.

Included by default. I would pay 1 euro on top to disable it :D

Looking at the ticket conversation, they disabled it, then enabled again. Again had to contact support. Then lost interest.

Can you show where exactly in the UI the user can disable it?
