Still server is down
@MikePT I don't want or need priority support, but at least be informed about the issue.
I understand being a bit unreachable on the weekends (i am), plus its Easter Sunday, but it was 3 hours downtime yesterday and 6 hours and going today, i know when anything is down in minutes and get notifications everywhere... and i normally only send a ticket to support a couple of hours later into the downtime, with the sense that there is no point bothering immediately if someone is already on the case, but i get the feeling that a lot of times @MikePT isn't on the case, he should have a better setup to deal with emergencies by now...
As i Said Previously he really do not care about the customer
After a few interactions with him, I can strongly say that he does care about each individual customer. I can only assume he's unreachable for a very valid reason.
However, I agree that he should have some contingencies in place, like perhaps asking a friend to look over stuff when you're away, or make sure that critical notifications reach you somehow.
I don't expect support answers, just for them to solve the issue.
Service is Down for whole day. I will not keep any production website here.
Server rebooted, and up again.
Right it's up for a bit... Time to find some logs
Oh it's that bastard immunify 360 service again ruining stability
I find 9 hours without knowing any reason, incidence, etc., worrying. Excessive and undesirable.
Hey everyone
So sorry for the delay in getting back to you.
This is a brand new server, 3/4 months old but sadly the CPU needs to be replaced. We'll keep everyone posted.
Motherboard and CPU being replaced shortly.
Increased costs. That means soon will have some more lifetime offers?
(Cruel thoughts, I know)
Hopefully this is why it’s down again - 35 minutes and ongoing
3h & 9hr 16min - previously
It was going so strong before 🥲
Now Down again.
Jirrrr whats happening
No increased costs. We rent it.
Server is back online with a new motherboard and CPU.
@MikePT why you stopped answering to tickets? 991137 and 767265 from 11 and 30 march can you please check?
Does anyone else see that JetBackup stopped doings its thing on March 7th or just me?
I have 384452 unanswered since 10th march, already migrated my shit weeks ago.
yeah, great value and great service when it works (which is most of the time), but unfortunately, I have found I can't rely on it 100% for anything super critical because of delays in receiving support, etc. I only have a handful of things hosted there at the moment.
If I were paying monthly/annual, I'd have migrated off as well. But the whole sunk cost thing with a lifetime plan... At least I've gotten almost 3 years out of mine, so even if it crashed and never came back, I'd have gotten just about the value that I think it has been worth.
I also had the service for several years already. The main thing is - I have nightly offsite backup of everything, so worst case - just migrate out, but I already had a win with this lifetime offer
yeah, if you are smart about it and take proactive steps to protect your data, there's probably no reason you can't host stuff there. Especially if you can deal with however much downtime it takes you to bring up your sites elsewhere.
Is the issue only with the DE server?
There are no problems with any location as of now, there have been a few downtimes in the past.
Yes, even I'm seeing Jetbackup stopped taking backups since March 7th 2024.
Did you opened a ticket with Mike?
Sure did.. No response
@MikePT can you please look into why DE node jetbackup is not taking backups from March 7th? Since @BradMcA already opened the ticket.
@MikePT Have you already had a look at ticket #397046? The server IP of our two lifetime reseller accounts has been pointing to the United Arab Emirates for a few weeks now, which is why many European visitors have no access here. McAfee and other scanners block the country. The IP used to point to Germany (Hetzner) - the domain should at least be within the EU, otherwise it is no longer usable. Thank you, Harald
He migrated the server to other company in case you didn't knew.
