from that page
Point being? You want the provider to receive the documents directly?
Withpersona seems to be hippa gdpr ccpa etc complaint
Passport copy along with selfie picture required
should be mentioned CLEARLY in the offer so that customer know what they are getting into
These laws do NOT apply to India

Well I'm talking about the security practices in general for the verification company.
The document and selfie is clearly mentioned on the kyc process page of the provider and the verification company.
India doesn't have the best privacy laws. Everyone knows that. So what's the noise for?
Passport is a ID and address proof. same is Driving License. I have mentioned about KYC verification in my job post.
In India users submit Aadhar card, license and pancard. We have seen international clients mostly prefer passport copy. I never mention that only Passport is valid. It was asked by another community member that passport will work
This is just an assumption on your part
OP did not disclose the logging part done as per local laws
You don't compare yourself to them in the first place. It's a big company with its own data centers. You are a small company that rents hardware somewhere from someone else. If anything, you'll just disappear and that's it. Nobody's gonna find you.
Of course it's everyone's right to send personal documents by mail or not. You simply have no right to ask this guided by your local laws to sell goods all over the world. Some people think it's okay, some people don't.
There are several ways to remove the watermark from a picture. For those who need it is not a problem.
I thought we were talking about verifications and KYC issues in particular. Nice pivot
Not every passport has address on it. That shows again your assumption based on Indian passport.
You missed out selfie picture required as part of "Know Your Customer local laws"
Perfect reply to "Everyone knows that"
It's clearly mentioned on the linked page in the first post about kyc.
Unless there is a rule on LET mentioning please mention details of how you carry out your KYC in detail, I don't see an issue. I dont think the provider was being deceitful at all.
I never menbtioned or even implied that provider is deceitful
He did not disclose the mandatory detailed data logging for every customer REQUIRED as per local laws
withpersona do the verification. Selfie + id proof is needed. Its the process. We are using withpersona to increase client trust and make the verification process better. If it is not satisfactory to you, we cant arrange any better arrangement so we will respect your decision of not choosing us.
Didn't know local laws were to be quoted in let offers.
All I am suggesting is to mention this
Selfie + id proof is needed.
clearly on the offer page.
Also, the detailed data logging part as well.
Customers should have full details as per complete transparency
Ok
Generally you should specify this before buying your product. Otherwise, as in the supermarket Discounts discounts come you come register and you sorry nothing will happen to you as not passed face control. And how will the potential customer feel after that?
In general, it's better to have respect for those who bring you profit.
You can always get surprised. I got a lot of feedback today. Some didnt taste well but I was able to understand the perspectives.
I want my clients to feel safe with us and move quickly ahead from KYC step. Thanks for giving me your opinion.
Where to check it?
Single women also get a lot of attention from men like they think they do.
No matter what you say. If you get a hypothetical example letter saying “share details of all customers who visited google.com in last 45 days”
you will comply without questioning if the demand as per law or not.
Correct me, if I am wrong
We put our country first and we trust our government's decisions.
Perfect.
Just don’t forget this in putting in clear words along with offers so that customers can make educated decisions.
Basically you have confirmed that no customer should expect any privacy with any service hosted by you.
would you not follow the process, if there is a law.
Complying with India's policies and laws are mandatory for any provider being established in India.
You "can't" fight the govt. and win a case here, very unlikely but possible when you have lot's of money to hire law agencies.
This provider is just trying to avoid that and is checking ID for every order.
What are you gonna say for RIPE requiring ID verification for ASN allocation... for all ASN allocations?
Two to five for perjury.
Do they require Selfie pictures as well?
Do they share customer data just for any demand letter?
i'm not a LIR, but i do remember submitting ID's. not too sure about selfie.
Buddy, this is India and you're quite forced to giveaway stuff rather risking arrest. If you have issues with this provider, just move on rather than bitching in the offer thread.
