VPS with high (50TB+) or unmetered bandwidth

neikneik Member

Hi guys,

I need to move lots of data from one cloud storage to another one and therefore need a VPS as a "middle man" for as long as I need to move the data (not more than a month).

Started on the lowest Netcup VPS and while it starting very promising at around 700mbit it went down to around 350mbit.

Requirements:

  • 1 or 2 vCPUs (as many as needed to feed the network)
  • 1 - 2GB RAM
  • 10 - 15GB storage
  • ideally unmetered bandwidth @ min. 1gbit

Seems like buyVM has a good offer for me but would like to see what you suggest?

Thank you!

Can't go wrong with BuyVM. @Francisco runs a tight ship.

+1 for buyvm or greencloudvps depending how much bw you need.

Edit: just re-read the title, greencloud probably isn't suitable but I find the network pretty good.

You're going to need to buy a bigger plan.

We allow bursting as needed, but if you're expecting to sustain 700Mbit for $7/month, we're not the host for you.

  • Well you could buy two of those Netcup plans?

    PHP-Friends also has unmetered bandwidth.

    Hi @neik ,

we are able to offer this for you in our UK Facility,

all of our UK Services have unlimited Links on them with 1Gbit ports, but if they are getting abused we do throttle the ports,

could you let us know the budget you have in mind so we can see if were a option for you or not,

As far as I recall they deadpooled with a previous company which left some drama here, which is probrably why they aren't advertising on LET.

Might not be the same company you are thinking of?

I wasn't part of this community then, so I don't know the history. But I found this when I looked at their offerings:

Ah, I see where you are coming from. I signed up since they were giving away directadmin license with VPS. They aren't doing so right now, but I haven't had any issues.

I've been using them too. They are great because they allow you to use as much bandwidth as you want on their ReliableSite dedis.
