I'm copying ~20GB from PulsedMedia over SFTP as I type this. Running great.

I'm just using FileZilla on my desktop. Have you tried something other than rclone to narrow down the issue?

  • yoursunnyyoursunny Member, IPv6 Advocate

The user lighttpd instance has various speed limits.
I typically run an rclone serve http instance in my PM account, and then use that as HTTP remote from rclone client.

I can easily download files to my PC but having issues with copying files from PM to another server

I tried this but its just blank...no error no thing

    what i am doing wrong

  • even rsync having issues

rsync: [Receiver] write error: Broken pipe (32)

rsync have same version both side even protocol number same

  • In the pass when this happened to me this helped --obscure and --no-obscure (can't remember which one I used, I've included the link below).

    https://forum.rclone.org/t/login-authentication-failed-password-generated-using-rclone-config-create/20766

If this doesn't work is your config correct? If you have your config on a different server /device you could anyways just copy it across to replace the one on PM.

Yeah my config is correct infact it shows all files but not copying because of absurd 530 error...what most absurd is still no reply to my ticket from pulsemedia

  • @PulsedMedia will you please be kind enough & to reply to my ticket or just post the answer here...it will be much helpful

Sorry have no idea what you could be facing, too little information posted here.

Ticket ought to be replied anyways -- but if information is as scarce as here ticket can't help you much either.

I am trying to take backup of my files with rclone or rsync & everytime I am getting error of 503

failed to readDir: HTTP Error: 503 Service Temporarily Unavailable

I sense that maybe @PulsedMedia would be kind enough to login to your box and check if they find something obviously wrong, obviously the service isn't managed so they have no obligation to, but maybe if you're lucky they can spend 5-10 minutes to see if there's something wrong.

I think that might solve it faster, and result in them spending less time on this then going back and forth with you for more details.

    Suggest that.

Yeah, probably they'll need a lot more though, certain logs etc, therefore I think this will drag on if they don't just check the basics themselves. Update the ticket with details to the box and make it clear that you don't expect them to fix it but that you'd be very thankful if they had a quick look themselves.

If you are trying to use the regular HTTP interface (ie. http://YOUR_SERVER.pulsedmedia.com/user-USERNAME/) with something like IDM, yea you are guaranteed to get errors.

There are limits because IDM is essentially a DOS tool, it will absolutely try to crash the server if it's allowed unlimited connections etc.

So there are limits on how many connections can be open etc.

If you are using rclone, well it's something probably in your config most likely.

Regardless, vague http 503 error is simply not enough to solve your ticket. It sounds really like no one else tries to use the service like you are using to.

For basic filetransfers, SFTP is the way. not direct http downloads.

Sounds like you are using rclone tho from previous replies (are you?), if so how are you getting regular http 503 errors? If it's our standard, then you are trying to use rclone like IDM/generic http download manager? Can rclone even do that?

Regardless, i am really sorry, but we are unable to help in all the possible ways to use the service, there just is not enough manpower for that -- especially with vague information. Every user uses things slightly differently and different ways, so everyone's setup is different and we are simply unable to provide support for every software and every possible configuration of every software out there. Sorry.

That implies the problem isn't the PM server but your destination server or your command syntax.

Given that you haven't provided details on what you want done, what Command you're entering and the response. You're making this so much more difficult than it should be.

You could have just scp'd or ftp'd the files days ago by now.

This person clearly expects us to provide one on one tutoring and using of his service on his behalf, or otherwise ..... well this thread.
Seedbox is functional, and as you can see from the ticket log OP did not really give us any information to work with. Regardless, users still need to use their services themselves, and learn to use the applications available. OP is now free to move to a expensive provider who might be able to provide the kind of hand holding the OP needs.
Here is the full ticket view, with private information censored.

There was a screenshot which only contained some sort of listing of files with some HTTP 503 errors , no idea what application that was. Probably rclone, maybe. not sure. He never explicitly told us what it was. Regardless, no matter of public ruckus the OP wants to make, we are not here to use the service on his behalf, and we really cannot help if we are not given the proper information to help him.

He has been given 3 days to clear out his data, and he has been fully refunded for the last month, giving him essentially several weeks of free service

Here is the full ticket: https://imgur.com/a/vAmH7fB

This is out of scope for the provider and it's on you to troubleshoot.

Frankly, your lack of details in the first ticket (and this thread) is atrocious and you're going to continue to have problems with all providers if you're going to be a dickhead.

Tl;dr no sympathy for you, all the sympathy for PM.

P.s. google the error message and what you're trying to do and figure it out yourself.

  • now i know what to do if i want an early refund 🫢

Here's the way I do it.

    Within my PulsedMedia account, run:

rclone serve http ./data --addr :88888

On the client, setup HTTP remote with URL:

    http://0-000example.pulsedmedia.com:88888

To list remote directories and copy a directory, run:

    rclone lsd pulsed:
    rclone -P --bwlimit 10M --checkers 2 --transfers 2 copy 'pulsed:directory' .

    In above commands,

    • substitute 88888 with a random port number between 1024 and 47999.
    • substitute 0-000example with the server hostname.
