doubt this is a good idea, but ihostart as a last hope? as far as i know they operate in a basement and thus the IPs are residential

How will governments control Starlink access?
Hard to say. I imagine import/export controls will be the primary way to stop this. The satellite being in full view won't help either.
Devices that are smuggled in will be extremely expensive and many countries with strict censorship also have a very low average salary - certainly not enough for Starlink.
@TheGreatOakley, just FYI, many Amazon US networks are reachable, as well as Akamai and Fastly (but those are CDNs).
The easiest is just to use Psiphon. It works as long as you have non-filtered DNS resolver (and updated version would also work without working resolver).
Doesn't Apple's private relay use Akamai or Fastly? Wonder if that works.

Would probably be banned from import (so would have to be smuggled for ridiculous prices), Starlink could cut deals with governments to prevent their service from being used, or having Starlink would be illegal with ridiculous potential jailtime.
For example, in India, a lot of satellite phones are banned and you must have special permission from the Department of Telecommunications to have them or to bring them into the country. Tourists have to declare them in customs and they will be seized.
Apple Private Relay is using Akamai CDN, check if that works.
