Personal advice, if you want the lowest latency and best peering, stick to INAP in the US and xTom in the EU. I don't trust singlehomed Zayo to offer fantastic peering so I'd probably recommend NY Metro or Chicago whenever that gets sorted out if you want good reach to the Eastern/Central US.

    I took the advice.

My vps7 currently in Atlanta is going to New Jersey.
    Form submitted.

My vps1 currently in Los Angeles is going to San Jose.
    Form submission results in error:

    Ryzen Migration
We failed to submit the request. Please try again tomorrow.

Would San Jose become sold out tomorrow?
I don't want to going to the crappy new Los Angeles - it's same network as AlphaRacks.

Doubt you'll be disappointed, I have a system in SJ and routing is super nice. I'd almost think SJ is going to end up being more popular than LAX due to the superior network availible there. I wouldn't call QuadraNet's network crappy but it's definitely miles behind INAP, INAP's entire product is their network blend.

I see some successfully creating here so it's possible it has to do with your specific package. What plan do you have?

ISO templates aren't available (yet) - anyone else seen this?
Client Area CentOS 7 gives no bootable device.

Old packages will have the wrong templates and possibly wrong ISOs. No good way to halfway fix them right now. You need to stick with very specific newer operating systems right now or Netboot.

I'll still resync Atlanta if you let me know the specific node name.

I'm getting this error too, with a black friday promo plan.

Are you actually getting your boxes moved and set up on Ryzen? None of mine have moved off of Xeon yet, probably staggered deploy but i'm curious if anyone has actually been moved to Ryzen VS just getting a confirmation that they'll be moved eventually.

I have the famous $8.88 plan from 2020 Black Friday, 1920MB RAM and 45GB disk.
I just checked it's not among the host nodes in the notification email, despite the button has showed up.

Anybody know where the "How to get a recent OS onto a Virmach VPS cheat sheet" is?

Stop Press. Forgot about the other method to mount a template in Client Area (after selecting Management). Did I not say the I wasn't quite in the game yet? :'(

@donli said: "How to get a recent OS onto a Virmach VPS cheat sheet"

See above: Debian 10 is there, as well as netboot, which gives you a whole suite to choose from. You may not get AES-NI enabled though.

If Debian 6 template is there install that first to get CPU pass-thru and AES-NI enabled, it will not boot. Wait 10 Minutes or more, then install the O/S you really want.

    Where do those get enabled?

  • I see some weird routing on Dallas Ryzen... People can install AlmaLinux template first and then download netboot.xyz with @tototo tutorial

I have way too much time on my hands.

Since they changed all the tax reporting laws it does not pay for me to work or have a business anymore here in Mexico. This is because I am both a US citizen and a Mexican citizen and, even though I have not been a resident in the US for more then 30 years I still have to pay both US and Mexico income and Social Security taxes on income I earn in Mexico. I sold my last business in 2011 because my accountant was telling me I was going to have to pay 76% in overall taxes between the two countries the following year. I could work in the US and then I would only have to pay taxes there the same as everybody else, but my life and family is here in Mexico, so I really had no other option than to give 3/4 of my income away or retire.
So now I am just a useless eater.
