Shouldn't really be using it anyway, on a server. Fine for a quick test build but not for production.
Yup, also on AMSD025.
And IP also still showing the old Frankfurt IP (50.3.xx.xxx).
VNC seems to go to: 149.57.xxx.xx , but doesn't display the SSH logon prompt.
Not sure if it's done yet, or if something went wrong?
It only shows:
/dev/vda1: clean, 165267/310080 files, 1187244/1244624
[blinking cursor]
Should I just leave it?
Or reboot?
Or do something?
Probably press ENTER for prompt to show up
It's PREMIUM baby!!
That was exactly a test to see if "maybe" I will get correct one from DHCP so I can adjust settings :-)
@donli No, I don't want to break it! :-O
Hah and that cup needs the fine print "as long as the hdd LED is not lit"
And I can't see the server's LED's clearly from here... is that frantic blinking I see? o.O
The last time someone unplugged a computer while the LED was blinking it took me 2 hours to fix it, so I'd go with just get a cup of coffee.
Normally the sign of a hung process, if more than a few seconds. If confident, boot from Rescue and check boot logs on the server disc. Otherwise, boot from ISO and open the console as soon as you can, to monitor how far it gets.
If this is the first time since an install via template, then wait - it may still be initialising processes from the template.
The other day I used the Ryzen migrate button and requested my 2016 $3/yr 384MB/17GB in AMS be moved to Dallas and had an IP assigned in Dallas.
Now it is up for migration Sunday.
Another $10.64/y 1.9GB/20GB Dallas BF special is also moving to Ryzen Sunday as well.
Got Atlanta 1.13/20GB $16.28/yr BF one migrated to Ryzen: yipee!
ISO templates aren't available (yet) - anyone else seen this?
Client Area CentOS 7 gives no bootable device.
Will try debian later, though I could do with finding that note on chainloading netboot from rescue. Likely bookmarked or something, somewhere.
Bargain!
Something went wrong. Fixing.
NYC to Dallas worked without any issue :-) ... Nice to load balance all my NYC VPS in the future
Is there a comment or post mentioning all the new DCs/Upstreams?
New DC:
LAX: QuadraNet
Dallas: Psychz (I think?)
SJ: INAP
AMS: xTom
NYC Metro: INAP (I think?)
Tokyo: xTom
Seattle: INAP
Atlanta: Flexential (upstreamed by Zayo singlehome)
Denver: Flexential (upstreamed by Zayo singlehome)
Phoenix: INAP
Okay before I roast them too hard, I should probably make sure I'm right when saying this but it seems like SolusVM doesn't support any larger than /24 IPv4 block even though they allow you to define a subnetmask, subnet size, and precise IP range.
It also does seem to allow me to add the IP addresses, and the system even registers it as added by letting me know it's a "duplicate" if I try adding it again.. but, it doesn't actually show up. Or maybe it just glitched out?
Anyway, GERKVM6 issue is that we're out of IPv4 addresses since it capped off this /21 at /24. Wondering if I should look into it further and try to fix it or just let them win and split it up. I don't think at this point I can even split it though since it thinks it has the IPs on this subnet already but they're invisible. Looks like I'm going to have to start digging in the database.
It can't be though, right? Am I just the only person in the world after 5+ years of using essentially the same version of the same software who didn't notice that limitation or did notice the bug, whichever it may be?
Anyway, let me go read through 11 years of changelogs, should only take about 5 minutes.
I regret that I wasn't interested in VPS in 2018...
Wow, I'm only 8 years in and it looks like they started making some revolutionary advancements here.
Personal advice, if you want the lowest latency and best peering, stick to INAP in the US and xTom in the EU. I don't trust singlehomed Zayo to offer fantastic peering so I'd probably recommend NY Metro or Chicago whenever that gets sorted out if you want good reach to the Eastern/Central US.
So I assume I can close my priority ticket about GERKVM6 aka SolusVM /21 too big.
Fucking piece of crap.
That's what people say when they don't want to admit they're in New Jersey.
Looks like it was added wrong in the system or... I don't even know. I just cleaned up the database and added it again and it worked. Fixing GERKVM6 IPs now.
No free RAM upgrades for you.
(or was that just for not opening tickets in March and April ?)
Another fun feature I love, when you specifically go to the IP add/remove page and click the tiny "X" to remove an IP address, it pops up a prompt asking you if you are sure you want to do it.
Then if you click the large "suspend" button on the main page, it just does it immediately.
Reconfigure IP, ARE YOU SURE? This will soft boot down the virtual server and then automatically bring it back online.
Suspend. Done, we just ran virsh destroy, boom, no prompt.
My last Buffalo VPS ($0.95 extra special) has been scheduled for departure to Ryzenvill, sans baggage.
