maybe next BF should put the 8.88 special on the wheel of death!
@imok so what deal did you get on your dedi? And what are your plans? You gonna upgrade to Ryzen when VirMach offers the option?
@randomq I got an E3HDL in Chicago with a great discount per year. If Virmach gets out of CC, deal is over. So no Ryzen, unless he is in a good mood
I'm eating burgers today.
I think we might have grilled turkey and bacon sandwiches tonight. Or maybe some homemade curry. But basically I just come up with the ideas and my woman tells me what we're really having.
Ohhh turkey.
Thanks for making me hungrier, guys
Wasn't Chicago more famous for pizza? Why you eating burgers!?
I don't know anything about Chicago and I had burgers on my fridge for a couple of months 😋
They were delicious.
🍔🍔🍔🍔🍔
I'm bored.
Install the server.
Then run yabs
This is "Shaun" he is more then just a number.
It came with CentOS 8 and I want to install Proxmox. I'm waiting for the IPMI credentials.
Of course I have run yabs. And I will do it again.
Your server will probably be stabbed and robbed before New Years. Better arm it.
Did you do YABS already?
@imok time to get your provider tag!
Sale will start soon in notvirmach.com
Sounds like East Lost FM radio.
I feel culturally enriched. I may even start singing at paintings.
Ryzen update-ish...
Lots of servers ready but I've decided against shipping them out today. These were primarily 5000 series which I realized have a specific issue related to overheating that we'll have to troubleshoot. They're not supposed to run that hot and I've confirmed it's definitely an issue with 3000 vs 5000 series (after ruling out anything else.)
We got a bunch of newer series motherboards we haven't opened yet, next step is to see if we can replicate it on those or if it's perhaps isolated to the older series motherboards after a flash.
Another update, not sure if I provided this already but it's some good news. We've closed out most hardware purchases for ALL migrations until end of 2022. As in, we're now a year ahead in hardware purchases. Previously we only had it for end of 2021. What's left over are the chassis since they're bulky and due to the US supply chain issues seem to have a hard time remaining in stock, with a lot of price hikes. We're short a small number of motherboards and are testing out builds with older/other chassis but we'd still need outer rails which are scarce. There'd still be some difficulty with purchasing small accessories such as I/O shields, the right PSUs, and heatsinks.
In closing this out we were able to get some pretty nice parts that we otherwise previously had to "settle" on due to the pandemic related shortages. This means more top of the line stuff like SSDs with better NAND and controllers, better risers, better motherboards, more 5000 series Ryzen, larger HDDs for more frequent disaster backups, and higher speed RAM.
BTW I'm not the owner of the domain
So the curse is not broken.
Not gonna go "I told you it will overheat", but I told you
Too hot?
