No, the problem is you purchased the account/VPS from a third party which is strictly prohibited per the terms you supposedly read. Your problem is with the third party that sold you the VPS. Not Virmach.

The reason why your VPS was canceled isn't because of the $5 or the IP change you requested; it's because the VPS was probably not acquired legitimately and was owner transferred outside of the rules allowed by VirMach.
You should definitely go after the one who sold you the VPS.

We do not want your money. I'm unsure if true why you would pay $200 without a normal $3 transfer fee to ensure a safe transfer. There's a reason transfers take a long time and cost a little bit of money. We spend a lot of time checking many things to ensure problems like this do not occur for the person receiving the service and can then provide some basic level of guarantee that your account won't be subject to these types of problems because we will reject the transfer if we notice these issues.
I also do not understand why you would pay $200 to begin with for this; yes, it's still technically a good deal after multiple years. I also (more recently) understand the numerology.
It's not that we want to prevent everyone from your message board to grab a good deal, and I also understand it's difficult to be able to guarantee you receive a specific one, I just do not understand why someone would not rather end up purchasing, for example, even our non-flash deal 4GB RAM / 100GB Disk package for $65 per 2 years with a high chance it is moved to Ryzen, and with the chance of spinning the wheel for doubling resources. If it helps stop people from making these risky trades with each other, then we can add something that will be viable in terms of pricing once we have more space in Phoenix Ryzen but none of this means we can just forgive the original account from breaking our terms of service and being unfair to everyone else by obtaining the flash sale how he did.
Or if you or others are so interested in reselling packages, you can do it legitimately and receive bulk discounts by just contacting us. Why complicate matters?
At this point consider your specific scenario a loss if you did truly pay that much for it, and do better risk evaluation when making these trades. We've provided plenty of warnings for years now. I don't know how to provide a more direct warning.
If people are playing unfairly, you can come speak to me and I will try to level the playing ground as much as possible. That doesn't mean you should resort to proceeding with risky deals. If you have any suggestions for me that will encourage safer trading through the official process, I'm listening. We did make modifications in the past based on feedback, to where, for example, we no longer require identification for a transfer.
We're trying our best to do Ryzen flash deals. We're trying to close a deal in Japan that comes with 8,000~ IPv4 addresses and a cabinet with 2Gbps commit on 10Gbps. It ends up being very expensive but we'll still try to do a great deal here next since that's coincidentally where most IPv4 will end up at the beginning.
We'll most likely also first open up certain transfers to Japan. None of this is guaranteed though, it's very possible for many things to go wrong (which has happened before, such as the datacenter partner stating they no longer have the IPv4.)
