@FrankZ how was your luck on the wheel?

I only have purchased flash deals so far. So no Spin of the Wheel for me.

Why would ppl prefer flash deals when special one offer 3x more storage and maybe maybe ryzen upgrade

    Thanked by 1FrankZ
  • Some of these flashdeals make my head spin round and round like a wheel.

    Because not everyone need storage.
Because flash deals comes in a lot variety and there were offers with bigger disk.
Because flash deals are time limited and brains turns off.

There have been some flash deals better than the specials. I rather have RAM and vCores over storage.

It really depends on the use case which is a better deal. For me I wanted a extra gDNSd server and a 40GB live backup for server configs and some data. This is a secondary backup. Both are light use on CPU but need a little more RAM. The two I purchased were in Buffalo:

    DNS server:
    1 core
    1.6GB RAM
    25GB SSD
    $8.27/yr

    Config Backups:
    1 core
    2GM RAM
    35GB SSD
    $8.84/yr

I am going to wait on the VirMach sale where he actually says he is selling Ryzen before I think I am buying Ryzen. I also have al least one VPS in every VirMach location so I still have a chance that maybe one or more of these will end up Ryzen. :)

Mabrook, I saw this myself but decided to let it go because it had only 1 vCore..

I rather to have more CPU than storage..

And this is what I think is so great about these flash deals. Everybody needs/wants different things and the VirMach flash sales offer that better then the standard _"We have this deal for you." _
    Just my 2 cents...

Yep, needed IPs last year to spam my Discord with python script. Bought 5 IPs, 512MB RAM, no idea how much storage, no idea how much CPU, no idea how much traffic - but enough to process webhooks in and out. For 12$ per year. 5 fucking IPs.

    Wait, got specs in doc:
    2GB RAM, 2 vCore,
5GB disk and (wait for it), 100GB bandwidth.
Plenty of everything, total fuckup configuration

  • $58.74/yr

    4 vCORE
    35GB SSD (RAID 10)
    22000GB BANDWIDTH
    ATLANTA, GA LOCATION
    1 DEDICATED IPv4

    22TB :)

Mine has two IPs, smaller ram though (512MB), 2 cores (Intel Xeon CPU E5-2690 v2 @ 3.00GHz) and 2TB monthly bandwidth for $5 a year! The 5GB disk is a pain in the neck but I still love it!

That's a very nice deal, have we seen any multi-IP deals this year? I've had to let my multi-IP plans go, they were both on the expensive side, and instead I've just kept like 8 of the $4-$8 plans idle so I've got a spare IP to throw at something.

Nah, I paid $8.87 for same location+CPU+RAM and 25GB disk.
What's worse, this server has been idling since September.

Looks like I shall cancel my $8.87 next year, and wait for Black Friday 2022 to pick up something better.

Cheapest I saw was for $7.57/year. Buffalo KVM 768MB RAM, 1 vCORE, 35GB SSD, 3000GB BANDWIDTH, 1 IPv4. Last year there were quite a few in the $4-$5/year range, but RAM was typically under 512MB, which is severely limiting these days.

  • This is probably a better deal then the one I got yesterday that was a $1 less but had less RAM. Cutting myself off unless it's just a HUGE deal.

    $9.53 /yr
    KVM – 1 GIGABIT
    2560MB RAM
    1 vCORE
    35GB SSD (RAID 10)
    5000GB BANDWIDTH

    1 DEDICATED IPv4

  • Great value deal, go grab one!

    $9.53 /yr
    VIRTUALIZATION KVM – 1 GIGABIT
    RAM 2560MB RAM
    CPU 1 vCORE
    HDD 35GB SSD (RAID 10)
    BANDWIDTH 5000GB BANDWIDTH
    LOCATION BUFFALO, NY LOCATION
    IPs 1 DEDICATED IPv4
