    The unofficial official answer is:
Support on flash deals probably does not include tickets for custom ISO mounts, but there are other ways to do it yourself.
(go to the control panel -> CD-ROM -> and mount netboot.xyz ...etc)

Please note I'm only an unofficial stand-in for the official unofficial @FrankZ while he goes to get some food.

Yes but from memory the 'Custom ISO' option just creates a ticket, from the page in question:

"To request a Custom ISO, please use the "Custom ISO" button below. Only premium KVM plans are eligible for custom changes, and they are processed manually. Maximum 2GB in size."

  • IMHO, this flash is worse than the special offer...

No, don't use the custom ISO button.

Go to the SolusVM Control Panel.
    Either
    A. click on "VPS Control Panel" under "Additional tools" which is in the middle of the page
    Or
    B. on the left panel click "Management", then under 'Addition Tools' click on "VPS Control Panel"

Then once in Solus, you go to CD-ROM, then select netboot.xyz and select to MOUNT, etc.

    1. You asked about if a custom iso could be mounted by support for a flash deal.
    2. Shrugged off the netboot.xyz answer from a helpful member as a way to do this yourself.
    3. Then quoted the answer in the billing panel "Only premium KVM plans are eligible".

I going to do my absolute best to help you out in my unofficial capacity as "a guy who has nothing to do with VirMach" spokesperson and say you should fill out a high priority ticket requesting a custom iso be mounted for you. I would expect that this will take at least 30 min for support to complete. So please deposit $30 or more as account credit, to pay for this requested iso mounting since you do not have a premium KVM plan.

    Please Title your ticket:
"Nutjob wants a custom ISO mounted for a flash sale"
So Virmach knows it is you.

If you need any further assistance please feel free to ask, as I have food now.

I absolutely agree with your sentiments and would not request for help mounting a custom iso. But this is what virmach said regarding this:

@VirMach said: They're officially KVM Lite but if you requested a custom ISO, we wouldn't say no.

Maybe this was meant for the original BF plans and not the flash sales though.

I have an affiliate balance and clicked the request withdrawal and it opened a ticket but then that ticket got rejected. Is there another way to request withdrawal @VirMach

Why would anyone want to withdraw rather than use it as credit?

But, do you meet the minimum requirement of at least $10 total?
It is stated as the minimum IIRC.
Was a reason not stated in the rejected ticket?

I wanted to withdrawal to a credit and its over $50, the reply was a defiantly a templated response.

This ticket has been marked as "rejected" by a member of our staff.

This could mean any of the following:

Your ticket title was not descriptive and it therefore could not be sorted.
The request can potentially not be fulfilled due to our policies or a limitation.
This was already answered or it is not part of the support level we provide.
If this was a billing request, it most likely means you are not eligible for this being processed. If you were requesting technical support, perhaps you have a limited support plan and your request was outside of what's covered. Your ticket may also be flagged as rejected if you may have already received a resolution in previous responses, as mentioned above, or if we do not discuss what you're requesting as part of the normal level of support we provide (for example, you might be asking us about a promotion or a trial or something we don't offer.)

If you do create a new request, please make sure to first review everything we have mentioned. In most cases, any further requests may also be rejected.

@FrankZ Um, I don't know why you're so worked up, but the fact is that I had no idea what netboot.xyz is so I didn't know it was relevant, but then I did see your step-by-step post above and I've been looking at it and it's very interesting, but it still doesn't solve the problem, since it doesn't allow arbitrary ISOs (from what I can tell so far, I'd be happy to be corrected), it just has a wider list of OSes to boot, but unfortunately not the one I want.

I of course did read that notice, but I was asking the question to find out if it may be available anyway. It's available on my other very cheap VMs so I figured I'd give it a try.

Finally I do appreciate you're trying to help and don't work for these people and are probably hungry. I get cranky when I don't eat too.

My understanding was it was said regarding the original BF plans which are standard KVM-Lite.

If nutjob goes about it in the way I described above VirMach support has the option to charge or not charge for the support ticket. If they do not charge him for it, he will be pleasantly surprised and can buy more flash deals with the account credit. Everybody wins :)

EDIT: @nutjob My apologies if you though I was being overly aggressive toward you. I have been working on being more polite this year, but I do realize that sometimes I don't get what triggers other people. What specific ISO are you trying to mount?

  • @ZA_capetown said: @FrankZ glad you're back, it was exhausting to do the unofficial stand-in... and... I probably need to do the shops now... I ran out of milk and food yesterday already, or was it the day before...

Yea, it's a tough job, with no unofficial official recognition, but as long as I am helping make the world a better place. It's all good.

Just so you know. The price of food went up since the last time I was out. You should bring extra money.
