Dude, "ho" is way, way more well known as hooker than "skint" means poor. Just sayin'.
Exactly my point, regardless if it's an office or personal phone, at least as per records, the "person" of contact for those IPs and the olx advertisements, is himself, via that number.
Are you saying there was a time you could?
Actually, no, you can call a company number and ask for someone. If the matter can be solved by someone else, then fine. It can be a PBX behind it or calls forwarded depending on hours, etc.
Someone can give info about the disks, but for haggling and whatnot, they can pass it to the boss.
He looks like a busy man, he wouldn't manage personally multiple ads on olx.
To be honest, no
Monday incoming
Hello all, happy Sunday
I fully agree, but whatever it is, it doesn't change the fact that the number stated is associated with him, as the person of contact, be it directly or indirectly.
Now as for the ads on olx, yes he's probably a busy man and he couldn't possibly be managing all those himself, which also supports (to some extent) his claim about someone else having access to the account and not him.
But my initial inquiry for him was why were they selling perfectly working disks, which seemed to be the exact same "specs" (considering the capacity) as those which were faulty in production (was it 280 disks or something?), when they could have been used to restore services, even if not completely.
Based on the ad, it was stated that they had several in stock, so surely they could have been put to good use, considering that as of May 22nd, they were trying to buy new disks when at the same time their ad selling some 12TB disks was still open/active.
I'll just wait for his response to this.
I think it is kind of obvious.
Like everyone he had spares. When the Chia started to spread, he thought he can sell those since the storage fried fewer disks than expected. Once the craze ended, he could buy back and make a profit.
Maybe he also wanted to roll back the service, who knows, but the ads were put there before the problem and, even if they were put up after, he could still have decided it is not worth it, he will refund and sell the remaining good disks as well as other hardware.
Sure, I can only guess and only him can give an answer but the thing is, even if he does, what would Francisco and many other haters which have no dog in the fight say? Everything you say can be twisted and turned against you, no matter what.
may be possible he extract out the 12TB HDD , sell at profit, take the left over put back and continue the service while refund the rest. when refund, is refund cheap discount service. but how about credit, is credit also refund for those involucrated storage VPS customers? by doing so losses can be cut especially the inflated credit promos.
hope to be totally wrong. but this is very good way to raise cash in such situation, especially with GTS. what spare can he have? definitely no spares. if spares exist the storage will already be fixed.
Good job, cociu, show them the middle finger.
He already done that multiple times
and will do it again. I received my chargebacked amount and my interest in this diminished.
To defend such incompetence, disrespect for customers and negligence in business, one must be very twisted and rotten inside.
The one who listens for those defenders is not the brigthest... History deemed to repeat it-self and this involucration is not the last.
Yes the ticket is still there, I opened the ticket yesterday. Nothing back yet, I really hope he has seen this before starting the refund. My account starts with the alphabet "A".
Are you sure that you're not cociu? Between the excessive loss leading, disputes with GTS, and other experiences, I'm not sure...
cociu already shows the middle finger to uptime if you buy a service from him (outside of the current involucration saga).
So which are the services currently up? Only storage in his own datacenter is affected or are some services down because he sold the IPs or for whatever other reason?
What loss leading are you talking about?
My dispute with GTS was not related, I was IT Manager for a medium company and after a year of excellent service I have decided their price was too high and contracted 2 other higher BW providers at lower price per total (albeit not clear channel). The contract said i had to cancel 30 working days in advance and I did, just that they counted differently, i was counting the cancellation day, they didn't, effectively removing one day from the 30 because the day of the expiration was also not counted and there was also a little known religious holiday nobody was respecting, so, while I counted i have sent the cancellation at least 1 day earlier thant the 30 contractual working days, they said I have to pay them one more year, that after the service was closed and they took their gear. They told me I will have to pay the litigation costs too, but never bothered to file the papers.
Cociu's dispute appears to be about the 2 days downtime he had, which probably allowed him to cancel as the contract was very hard on both parties and they are after him to pay for the remaining contractual time without actually providing any service.
The similar part appears to be the fact they probably know they have no chance so they didn't show up in court nor sent the full paperwork (in my case they didn't file anything at all), it was probably all part of the scare tactics, make up a huge amount and try to settle for the original bill. Internet is really cheap in here and even as GTS is very expensive compared to others, that is a huge amount, probably without a legal base in the contract.
Guys, we missed Cociu is going to disable his employer.
Be careful out there - we have another Jack Ryan
What employer? He has his own business, he is the the employer.

Ahahah :P I get it now.
@MikePT Mr. ElCheapo do you still work for @cociu? Did he pay your salary?
Distinctly possible (esp. Stateside), as a hooker is found in the centre of a scrum in rugby, in my puny head. (Apart from some US program with TJ Hooker, IIRC.)
Skint is better described as penniless at a given time, thus always skint amounts to being financially poor.
PayPal ruled in my favour - Case closed - no response. Ticket involucrated.
Still have Norway services which are working well.
Oof, that PayPal account is taking some hits.
Wonder how long it will stay open..
As long as it has money.
I'm not sure wrt @cociu but usually involving paypal leads to provider terminating any and all services (and understandably so). So, I suggest you make a backup of your Norway VPS ...
True. @msatt should do backups, before Monday arrives.
Any TLDR so far?
Like he decided to profit from this Chia farming trend and sell all HDDs and equipment suddenly? Or a small error in the beginning and then he decided to just wrap up and bye bye?
Thats the million dollar question right here.
Still no solid answer to it though.
In theory, yes, but he can't honestly do that as long as the man has opened a ticket which was deleted, waited about a month and nothing happened.
In general, charging back without a justification or without trying to solve the problem amiably first leads to account closure, it is not the case here.
