tux that restriction was not there when I ordered. :(

This is most interesting part. They added restriction en route and cancelled all the orders that didn't comply, even if orders have been already accepted.

"Enjoy real world". No pun intended.

Looks like I got a ks2g. I paid 6 euro with no install, got a n2800 so I'm going to keep it and see what OVH gives me. If OVH doesn't give me a dual core atom then I'll keep the oneprovider one.

I ordered the same one from OneProvider on Jun 30th.

    It's still not delivered.

They even said no ETA when I asked them about it.

Has anyone had any experience having their friends or relatives order a server for them, and using it? I mean..I'm outside the EU, but have friends in EU who are not an existing OVH customer, and would like to order through them, and use it myself. Will they have checks in place to cancel service if the panel is managed from non EU geolocation?

That's what I'm trying. I don't think they'd bother checking the IPs used the access the panel though. I ordered through a UK VPN just in case.

They placed the order on the 27th using PayPal and it got rejected on the 5th along with everyone. I placed another order on the 5th before the button disappeared today and I'll get them to pay it with credit card. If that works then I'll probably get another couple just for security. After all, 3x KS2G are still cheaper than pretty much every other dedi out there.

I think they'll deliver it in mid-October, and set the expiration date to November.

I was thinking to order in a similar manner. My sibling is in the UK right now studying. My only concern if it's necessary to send additional documents to get verified. Has that happened to you yet?

Stop feeding these scammers already, OVH told you no resellers, and they now enforce various measures to prevent reselling (e.g. no Paypal), OneProvider probably now scrambles for new ways to try bypassing those. They will not succeed, you will not get anything from them. Lucky if you will even get a refund.

the cost of a miniSP= £39.59 VAT inc
the cost of hiring a lawyer and filing a lawsuit because delivery of your miniSP was delayed = //facepalm

No resellers for the current round. 2012 and 2011 can be resold, though, at these prices, probably they mean the 2013 round.
Being a company that has a long relation with OVH, it may be that they can strongarm them somehow, maybe they placed an order when was still permitted to do resale.

In the UK it costs £25 to register a claim with the small claims court (which is the only place you can do an amount as small as £39.59). You can't use lawyers and if you win you'll get your costs back as well - might well be worth it.

Yeah, but you need to be a bit crazy to waste your time on this, I mean I understand pursuing something that affects your life, but this looks too insignificant.

  • Yes, I wouldn't do it too. I am only a small dust/dot compared to OVH. But maybe the guy is so pissed off

  • @spekk said:
--you need to be a bit crazy to waste your time on this--

    More like a kilobit...

Either some people here really have no life whatsoever outside the digital realm, or then this is just the result of the agitation of other low-end providers (who obviously feel threatened by this maneuver, even if they valiantly claim the opposite). Or both.

  • From what I gather, OVH has more agrressive plans/offer to follow the 3eur offer. Once this drama is settled and people get their kimsufis, it will be opened at the US website at a slightly different price range. Then probably for the world. This somehow covers rest of 2013. 2014 is when they plan to disrupt the market and possibly hurt other providers.

  • @spekk said: Yeah, but you need to be a bit crazy to waste your time on this, I mean I understand pursuing something that affects your life, but this looks too insignificant.

Its a shame. A lot of people have spent more time bitching/moaning on forums than it would have taken to file. If they filed some simple paperwork then OVH would likely have responded by bumping them to the top of the queue and issuing account credit higher than the settlement amount to avoid the hassle on their part.

Plus, if a few people did this they might reform their treatment of customers a little...

  • Got call from my local OVH office (ovh.lt) and they said that my K16g order (02-08-2013) is cancelled, because there is no servers in stock and my payment was done via bank transfer and from now on they accept only CC. They said that next kimsufi in stock will be available in 4 weeks. Another funny thing has been told to me - they cannot refund my money so it will be transfered to OVH loyalty points, but when it will happen - they don't know, I just need to wait. Anyway got that call from girl and she sounded very sexy so gotta say I am pretty much satisfied.. :))))

I have ordered mSP today in SBG, hope to get it till Sunday. Another mSP SBG was ordered last month 07-26, but still not delivered.

Haha, that is priceless, mon, priceless :)

  • The support is total bullshit, they don't even know about the things Oles is saying, he told me that you need to be able to pay with paypal because it isn't official.

Comon, Atleast a little bit communication would be fine.

Actually, this is why I didnt give up hope, some ppl paid with paypal and still got them, I ordered a lousy ks2g, it is obvious I am no reseller, if they do not look for excuses not to deliver, then common sense dictates I should get mine. Common sense is not in big supply there, though, so, while I didnt give up hope, I am not very optimistic either.

IF a bank transfer was a valid payment method at the time you made the order, I can't see how they could pull this in any civil law system (that I'm aware of, anyway) – you either deliver, or you refund.

That is, if you don't give consent :)

According Oles tweet current orders (15000) will be delivered by mid-September.
They might open the offer after that again.

How do you know they will offer it in mid-October with expiration date on November?

Well, I got a refund for from them because they didn't know ETA, and changed specs of machine. They say they will refund if they cant deliver.

My idea was to get a server from them and then report this to OVH that they
are reselling Kimsufis with the hostname so they could at least delete one account from them, but as I got refunded, that plan went wrong.

I got one KS16G delivered with 2 TB disk today, ordered last night. So you can get new KS16Gs quickly if you dont want RAID.

But I still haven't gotten mSP at SBG. Should be delivered by Sunday according to Oles.

Apparently they delivered it with 100Mbit for those who asked for it. I asked too but he didn't respond to me.

That's not possible. For some reason they took away Kimsufi offers from www.ovh.lt (my country) at all. Maybe they think we are not in Europe :)))) Anyway as I said earlier, k16g without raid is useless IMHO.

  • xsetxset Member

@dikobraz 2 TB is fine for just a file server.. anyway, I needed it temporarily until I get FS-24T.
