  • Are all OVZ plans to be migrated to KVM/OVZ 7? Or does it all still "depends"?

hmmmm ... I rather pronounce VirMach with a soft 'i' and 'a' and a hard 'ch'

that is Vir rhymes with burr

and Mach rhymes with Bach (or hack)

and after a few beers ... "¡Fur-Mock!!1!"

(I know the Mach is short for Machine, but idgaf)

When I see Virmach on LET, I say "deals!", no one has time to figure out how to pronounce Virmach when digging for their credit card from their wallet.

Yes, depends. No more information out yet.

Still finding a job, looking at the inbox everyday without any emails or only rejection emails are quite depressing.

  • And so I did it...I just cancelled my VirMach storage VPS with such a heavy heart. I don't usually make an effort with cancellation notes, but:

Unfortunately, this storage server is always being shutdown due to "excessive CPU usage" while doing rsync. I would have understood if I was running Resilio Sync, but it's just the good 'ol rsync. If a mere rsync would consistently flag me for abuse, I guess this storage server is not for me.

    U ( ... for "Utilization")

@FAT32 - a good job, like many things in life, seems to be always found in the last place you look

Actually that's meant as a joke, and not always true!

One of the best jobs I had in my early career was a scientist at the nearby university who contacted me in June - after I had gone around dropping off print-outs of my resume in February. I was already working (a temp job) at an insurance company when I heard from him that a position had finally opened up, if I might still be available? And I happily took a $10,000 pay cut to go work on something that was more interesting to me.

the point I'm trying to make is - you might find there are many jobs out there that do not seem to value you, and when you are stressed about needing to make some money it can seem like that's the entire world. It is not. The really good jobs are harder to find. Keep looking - and make it as easy as possible for them to find you - because they are often struggling to find rare quality as well.

@uptime Thanks for the kind words and advices! I am also comforting myself that good things in life are worth waiting for.

I believe another thing I have to overcome is not being affected by the peer pressure from others. It is hard to not compare with others in a competitive world.

Is this the same offer that was posted on the Cest Pit a few weeks ago but only at Buffalo?

  • $7/m dedi would be nice, but still probably outside my budget due to dishwasher going nuts!
