When did they add the policy for EU only? I don't recall seeing it

Sometime yesterday, after they started getting swamped with orders. They also added the 3 server limit at the same time.

    1 IPv4 and 1 IPv6 and some have said that's meant to be 1 /64.

It is indeed 1 /64 block for ipv6 as that is what I have received.

@ztec setup Failover IP between them? How would you automate the Failover? I had a PHP script in Cron that checks site's URL and if down, re-routes the Failover IP to other server.

    Anyone from UK received theirs?

Not yet, but i've heard of someone else from the UK who already got his around 4PM Saturday 27th, so i'm not sure. Also, i ordered before him.

Anyone know if OVH Failover IP has to have 2 servers in the same DC or can I have for example two 2 x mini-sps in separate DCs (RBG and SBX) with IP Failover?

They give me a change in terms ex post facto? That's fine. I'll change my screen to have a witch riding a penis and cause an "incident" to happen.

    Petty revenge for petty assholery.

In their defense it's not like they had any idea that people would want to get a dedicated server for the cost of a cheap VPS. It's not like they run a datacenter or anything. How could they know?

@jarland This was to attract mostly new customers, a stunt.

OK, I paid via Paypal 2 days ago, although I got confirmation email from OVH with subject "[PAYMENT] OVH Order No.:(number)", I can't see my receipt from their web panel.

    Where can I find it?

Administration -> invoices -> open orders (or something like that)

@relip go to "Management", Billing, Orders in Progress..

Yeah, I checked already. Nothing's there.

I'm using https://www.ovh.com/managerv3 this panel. Is this correct?

@relip open a ticket, your order isn't processed..

they may pop up in a email saying you need to submit proof of ID...

Hah, when you click on the link above.

Cette adresse est peut être malveillante.

    They might be right :)

  • Anyone got a link to see if your order is cancelled or not? I see nothing under invoices on the manager.

  • LeeLee Veteran

Log into manager, click on admin then my invoices and finally orders in progress.

If there is nothing there then that is your answer. If there is something there click to open it, under the execution column it will say something like completed or cancelled.

Nothing there, wonder wtf is going on with them then -.-

Just wait, it's not instant. Mine took about 10 hours to appear on manager. Yours might be longer since it's weekend.

Btw, my PayPal status is no longer "Pending" (authorization only) but is "Completed". So they have taken the money. How difficult is OVH refund process? My order is marked cancelled anyway.

Wait, so, they are taking the money AFTER they cancelled the order ?

What I don't understand is, why didn't they just exclude the countries they didn't want to do business with from the order form (from the country list drop-down box)? That could have saved so much trouble.

It is not like they dont want to do business with. The offer is limited, they do not have so many machines as the demand was so they limited it to EU since they are not allowed to exclude EU ppl from the service, but can exclude everyone else.

This brings up another point. Someone was saying they do this for the shareholders to prove they control EU and US markets or have a fairly significant share. If they were trying to do that witht his offer, would have allowed US/Canada too. They dont, therefore it is likely that the limitations are put in place due to scarcity of the machines, they added 1 cores to the mix too for the same reason.

Even so, they had to make sure EU ppl dont buy all stock so it was limited to 3 per account/person and now is subject to availability.

I am not sure this will do to match the offer with the demand, but will certainly come close.

it was poorly planned, they did not expect every forum to start talking about it, now they will have to put up with the abuse that comes with an ffer like this and expect cancellations left and right at the smallest hint of wrongdoing, either real or imagined. I would try to keep it shut down for a while, before they are done axing the abusers or I might become collateral damage during the initial paranoia.

They will be swamped with tickets asking why the service has been terminated, they will think everyone did something wrong, will either not reply or not look into the matter close enough because they are running this at a loss anyway.

TL;DR If you intend to keep your KS once you get it, keep it off for a couple of weeks at least, otherwise the risk of getting axed as collateral damage is very high, much higher than usual.

I totally agree with u, also they should at least include their existing clients from outside EUR since they don't need any manual verifications.

Wait, so, they are taking the money AFTER they cancelled the order ?

Yes. First time I noticed "cancelled" clause on my order, the payment on my PayPal was still pending or temporary hold.
