@ravenchad It is a personal server, non-transferable. The person doing it for you would break agreement with OVH or be responsible for your use of the box, which I think is not worth for 3€.
I'm going to replace $68.99/AMD Athlon(tm) II X4 605e dedicated server with Kimsufi 16G for half-the price and double the CPU.. sounds good, if they actually deliver the KS16Gs next week
If not, I'll get the mini-sp.
Intel(R) Atom(TM) CPU N2800
centos tells me 4 cores but intel says 2.
I'm satisfied enough because I got this drive: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822149380
And its close to brand new since its only been running for 370 hours and IO is good
Lets hope I got my server soon with a n2800
good luck for you atleast.
That's 2 cores, 4 threads I believe.
@makkesk8 the drive is known to die after 30 days according to newegg reviews.. Good luck indeed
But at least those have been run for 15 days
Yes, I received mine this afternoon after order on 26th june at 1 AM BST. Came with the two cores I ordered.
Well I wont even use 20 gbs and all data I will put on it is backed up anyways, So I don't really care...
If it dies OVH will just replace it
how are we going to get a refund for those who ordered in Ovh fr and non-EU?
Say what, I ordered mine at the same time but no banana yet ;(
@ravenchad Make a ticket and wait, that's easy, or call them at OVH UK or Ireland, they'll do it for you quicker:)
@xset They don't work on Saturdays.
Yeah, I don't think they're going in any chronological order unfortunately.
@chauffer I didn't mean call them now, but on Monday
So basically thanks to the new clause on their page all of us who attempted to order from non-EU countries are SOL? Brilliant.
@jtr Indeed...
I ordered from OVH FR and I've submitted tickets in English and gotten English responses etc... should be fine?
Finally I got a respond regarding the non-EU orders.
They will refund them all !
I'm marked canceled now
I have more then one server with OVH and usually have no trouble with near instant setup, got the receipt from them but no sign of a refund.
When did they add the policy for EU only? I don't recall seeing it, but I will admit I was reading quickly, the only negative that I really saw was 1 IPv4 and 1 IPv6 and some have said that's meant to be 1 /64.
I can't seem to order a regular Kimsufi now either, very poor communication on OVH's part, so if you're not from the EU no more Kimsufi now? I haven't seen anything about if these new IP restriction applies to existing Kimsufis.
Getting a single core Cele would suck, I would much prefer the Atom but I guess now I would be happy with anything. I'm really waiting for them to break the $20 mark at their BHS DC but I think that's going to be quite awhile as their plans for world domination seem to be taking a different turn.
Well, finally a good thing (in the hosting industry) that I'm living in Europe.
When did you order your mini SP? I ordered one earlier today but it's still not setup.
Even though it's a bit disappointing people who ordered well after me have theirs already, it's a good sign that (hopefully) mine won't be far off.
@nunim They don't really communicate, that's it. Why Cele < Atom?
@bogdacutuu It takes 24 hours - 72 hours depending of the stock and which DC you chose. They dont deploy it during the weekend.
I ordered one as well a couple of hours a go, I expect it to be there next week. It's not like I have use for it other then extra backups.
@nunim: 1 IPv4 and 1 IPv6 and some have said that's meant to be 1 /64..
Yep. It is a /64. I called OVH yesterday.
Seems they do,
Just ordered mini-sp from SBX, where setup time is 24 hours. Perhaps I'll cancel my 2xKS16Gs instead, as they have a loong delivery time (1-10 days)..
Ordered a second one, just for fun.
Next thing I want to know is if they plan to cancel existing international clients or if we're just looking at a scenario where what we have is the last thing we'll ever get from them and we'd better not cancel anything. The other option being that this is, in fact, just a limited promotion and everything will go back to normal soon...which I've seen no indication of beyond statements of opinion, but evidence against it being the products replaced with no statement of promotion to the uninformed client.
