Hard to say but I/O seems too slow at some point that it made my Mysql InnoDB not able to read from disk fast enough so timeout alot. The process even hung and it began a deadly loop that I need to restart server.
I decided to go back to my old vps because I cannot accept another downtime. So I couldn't have time to find out the culprit.
This is not a complaint, just express what happened, anyway I don't think I would run a production thing on a lowend again.
SG node?
Yes

Same for me. Raised ticket and was re provisioned. Still testing it out. U read from NVMe or HDD?
Hello Banxix.
We are currently addressing SG again and are finding cases of abuse so addressing that.
The initial issue was ours causing a bottleneck but that has since been cleared up.
Apologies.
SSD as default, HDD needs manually mounted. It was my production website so I don't have time to wait for it.
I also have a VPS on SG and have a similar problem.
My VPS initially had only HDD, I used it for VPN and was gonna use it for development purposes but later because I had other things to do. After 3 days, I transferred my data that was hosted on OVH SG, but the speed was very slow, it took over 30 minutes to transfer a 3 GB data, I even tried with aria2 for parallel download but didn't help.
After that I tried to extract the archives, but whenever I ran a command
tar xzvf data.tar.gzI got disconnected from the VPS (both VPN and shell) and its latency increased a lot, so a simple extract command would take down the VPS.So I sent a ticket and asked if they could move it to NVMe because I thought HDD was the problem, they did move it. I also asked about the latency, they said they were aware and it was network problem from OVH side. After the VPS got provisioned on a different node, I did almost the same as the previous one and on the 3rd day the latency increased again.
Now I don't know what can I do with this VPS.
I can't use it for VPN because the latency is way too high.
It took more than 10 minutes to transfer a 500 MB data from my other VPS on OVH SG which is on a same network.
It took almost 5 minutes to install ioping, a program that isn't bigger than 50 KB.
Now I'm extracting a 60 MB zip file, I took a shower and it's still extracting, made this post and it's still extracting...
Hi, which node are you on? Can you share some benchmark here? Like
time tar xzvf data.tar.gz. It is working fine on my side here. (Pure HDD)There is definitely a problem with SG3 and emails and an announcement have already been made that an emergency maintenance will be carried out tomorrow.
@FAT32 you are on SG1, the fullest of all SG nodes.
@Doutei I have no idea what SG node you were on but guess you are now on SG3 also as the other two have been going strong both of which are Xeons. You are now on the i7 because you wanted nvme.
@banxix it is not an ideal situation but these things do happen.
We are still responsive and available should you need and intend to have the node back up after maintenance and investigation into the cause.
Everyone on SG3 can get a replacement VPS in any of our available locations if ideal while we carry out the work.
Please check your inboxes or our announcements page.
It's never lupus.
Except for the one time it was.
House!Bingo!Yes, but I also had this issue when my VPS was on node SG2. I thought it was caused by a slow HDD so I asked if it could be moved to NVMe, but apparently I got this issue again on SG3.
As I have confirmed, there is an issue with SG3 which will be looked at.
SG2 on the other hand has no present issues and has not gone down for any emergency maintenance. I have just tested it myself and download and upload speeds are as expected.
If you require a replacement while work is carried out tomorrow just let us know and it will be provisioned.
@HostDoc I noticed the Client Area is often inaccessible often with a DNS error. Other than that, no issues. It performs as well as the vps from SSDnodes in the same DC that I used for the past year, but it's 40% cheaper.
@HostDoc
I love the VPS, but I canceled today due to the billing and suspension issues I've had since signing up. I actually got charged a late fee tonight even though I have a credit card on file.
Thanks for offering replacement VPS. Hope SG3 Maintenance goes smoothly for u. Also good time for me to test UK/France, if poison is strong, who knows
Hey @Xenos WHMCS has been weird since we migrated it just over a month ago and only just a few minutes ago decided to run a phantom overdue billing on certain accounts of which yours was one of them.
If you were charged a late fee on this occassion, simply open a ticket so we can remove it or if already paid, can be added to your account credit or refunded.
No problem, UK instance provisioned
Do they allow installing/running Windows? I'm kind of excited to learn installing other OS on a VPS.
You can definitely install Windows, it's one of the options of OS you can install in the panel. You can even use your own ISO too through the panel.
Damn, I didn't notice they have already provided everything for convenience.
@FAT32 Please. The benefits are immense.

Jeez, I received 91 payment reminder emails since last 8 hours. @HostDoc please look in to this. Invoice 1781 fyi..
Its due on march 14th.
I am sorry, but, does this now look like our support desk?
You have been with us for about a year and any issues you have always used the correct channels. What changed?
But yes, I can look into it.
EDIT2 I have just looked at it and see no problem. All invoices were issued as paid and the only unpaid one is your upcoming bill for the 14th.
Did I miss anything? If so please do let me know.
You absolutely have a problem

On SG2 HDD too...I thought I was the only one has the problem...process hung lots of times when I using docker...
Well, I never said that this is your support desk. I am not at my desktop and I check forum more often from mobile so I just thought to give you people a headsup about the issue with your invoice reminder module.
It was in no way to defame your service, I was just trying to help.
Edit: my sincere apologies for informing you about a issue that can be communicated via support.
Guys please use their Tickets. You don't have to confirm it here.
Yup tech support use tickets and work fast .
If everyone else in this thread is reversed, I will be the only one reversed.
