  • Who wants a last offer from Virmach?

Lets all call Virmach for a last offer that will break the billing server for a last time in 2018!

    Thanks!

We're still finishing the first 2 extra orders up, then reading his private messages. The 99 cent offers should be done very soon as in a couple of minutes, probably already done by the time I make these replies. Everyone: make sure you pay for them or they'll be suspended/terminated. There's a couple people that provided e-mails that didn't exist in our system -- unfortunately, we cannot do another round of these so if you made an error, sorry. If you didn't PM your e-mail by the time we compiled the final list, again, we cannot honor them.

randomq said: @virmach now you need a cancellation auction, where you make a flash offer, and those wishing to bid on it cancel one of their black friday VMs. The largest spec cancellation wins the offer. >:-D

We could also do double your specs or divide by 2 randomly, but both of these ideas would be pretty complicated. Everything already breaks, everything would break more.

FAT32 said: @VirMach I know you have a long list of PMs but there are a few more requests for $3/yr and $4.7/yr that comes slightly late which I have just PMed you, please take a look, thanks!

By slightly late, it is still on the allowed timeframe in that day so don't worry.

Will take a look at these soon

No, in Europe. I didn't manage to snipe any decent 4 cores KVM in Europe.

I don't believe in words "VirMach" and "No stock" in the same sentence.

  • To host websites in vestacp it is recommended to set up a vps for VirMach ?

Thanks for honoring this and taking your time to get these sent out \o

You need at least 6 VPS's for that. 5 to idle and one decent.
This question makes no sense, you can host that w/e you want/need/suits you.

gks said: @VirMach, Any luck for me, I have added 24$ windows to my cart, it was cancelled without charging my credit cart? It was in my cancelled list in billing panel.

As always, if it was canceled without payment, you did not pay for a product, therefore, we cannot deliver a product, and we cannot go back and do this for any canceled because it most likely means it was out of stock by the time you were unable to pay.

I see it has been fixed in my 1 of 3 VPSs, another two still not yet (Buffalo & Los Angeles)

These are all done now, if you didn't get it fixed then please make a ticket.

gks said: I need option to increase my SSD storage with $ payment.

This was already stated as not possible for flash sales. Do you think asking repeatedly is going to change it?

Even if it was possible, it would be our standard rate, so no one would be interested. $2/mo per 10GB.

This (other than the nodes probably not having disk left) is the main reason we don't offer these, because it would just be a constant back and forth with the customer arguing the pricing.

    Hi all,

I grabbed an OVZ machine which I believe did not yet get a proper OS installation.
And when I try to re-install from billing, I get this (CentOS 7):

So I could try to do it via Solus, BUT:
In my Solus account I only see ONE of my multiple VPS. Obviously these are seperate per VPS... But: I have 1 Solus user name - where do I get the other Solus logins from?

We'll most likely fully fix these by tomorrow. Until then, you do need to log into the panel. And you can get the username by clicking the "Control Panel" button. If that doesn't work and you cannot find it on the email, then you need to make a ticket requesting the username.

Once that's done you have to reset your password.

The password goes to your initial e-mail with us when signing up, not any future e-mails you changed to on your profile -- A LOT of people changed their email and can't get the password. For this you need to contact us to change your SolusVM e-mail address.

I remember complaining about @VirMach billing panel taking my money, but never marking invoices as paid. Looks like tables have turned and now I get free shit and they do not get my money!

Thanks to WHMCS, servers on fire and people clicking like maniacs.

Yeah, it gave me two years instead of one on those 2 servers!
Yes, I will open ticket tomorrow, let them first handle all BFs sales, lol

DEADPOOL, how will VirMach pay bills next year?!

Thanks to you, 11 people now have 1 year less.

You made good decision, I regret buying one, they offered 20 GB SSD space for Windows, I had poor knowledge on Windows, also missed reading the 20 GB label on SSD space, ordered one, not sure about Windows HDD requirements. Now the OS itself took 14 GB Space, only 6 GB left, my friend inspected system, told me that when windows updates itself next time and few more times, it will take few more GBs every time, then it will be dead box, return to dead pool. RIP!

My point is, when customer had poor knowledge on operating system, is it not @Virmach guys who is in hosting industry, not aware that Windows minimal requirements, will they not make a reasonable spec before promising them and taking money from customers? Or they do know this fact, wanted leave the box full, unusable, with no refund or no spec adjustment even with some payment options?

Windows with updates will easily take around 30GB.
Maybe you should read the specs before ordering next time.

    It is not $1 machine, I paid 48.32 $.

    Here is the spec.

    Memory 13.25 GB
    SSD 20 GB
    V.Core 6
    4.5 TB Bandwidth

    That's pretty beefy.

The point is, this configuration not suitable for Windows, but why this should be advertised as "Windows available", when they know, this is useless for any simple usage. At least, Virmach, having a reputation, I believe, they should not false advertise things.
I had good lessons on Windows and all these crazy stuffs.

We had someone argue this for our offering of an Ubuntu w/ VNC option on a 128MB package because they were upset everything didn't work properly. The solution is to remove the option to select it, but then the people that are fine with having all the choices and understanding it may obviously not work perfectly, for example in this case, for running Chrome on a 128MB package, are punished.

The templates we provide work. We also only technically advertised it as Windows 2008, but are offering re-installs to the other versions. We only advertised it as "Windows Available."

In any case, I'm pretty sure people updating are running out of disk because Windows keeps a bunch of files in certain folders for the update, that can technically be removed. In terms of the process of the actual updating though, that may fail if Windows is generating a bunch of files, moving them over, and then not deleting them.

For example (just making up numbers here), you might need 12GB for Windows without updates, and 15GB after the update, but 27GB to do an update.

Also, we always advertise the disk space as before the OS being installed.

ddhhz said: Hope @Virmach can update windows images.

We will always try to keep these images updated, but it takes several steps to properly image Windows and add the keys, finalize it all, with different variations of keys. We have a queue for upcoming updated images, so this should be done soon

It definitely benefits everyone if they're updated.

  • You've got plenty of bandwidth, so why not mount storage from elsewhere? Windows will run fine.

@uhu, Thanks for advice, this seems nice option, I will try remote mount storage, I also have an another 50 GB SSD VPS from them, which is about <=1 ms ping away.
