Did you mean outbound? Outbound is USA to CHN.
That plus NY plus anycast = a pretty good CDN, it occurs to me. Nice
inbound, CHN to USA.
So basically is not help the net speed very much.
Outbound is much important for Asia users.
No.
If you buy a CN2 IP it's CN2 outbound as well
Had to make some changes to our configuration so it wasn't working right over the past couple days, but that's now resolved.

There are two addon, witch is the right one?
China Optimized IP $3
China Optimized DDoS Filtering $3
The whole point of a CN2 IP for websites is to have a better outbound connection. I'm sure there's some configuration issue that caused outbound to not being routed by CN2. I've heard some stories about inbound not routed to CN2 though.
China Optimized DDoS Filtering $3
That's up to you. Both of them have outbound CN2 GIA, but Voxility can cause some high latency when they randomly decide to route China through Europe again.
If you don't need the protection, go with the non DDOS protected version, that way it's pure GIA both ways.
Francisco
After lastest test, seems all outbound have cn2 route, but only China Unicom didn't have inbound CN2 right now.
Yeah, I don't have CU yet
Sorry!

Can I just order the storage and connect it to another vps company? Because I tried to order a slice and it's sold out.
Not possible.
We'll have more on the 10th if you can wait that long.
Francisco
No.
Is there minimum size of slab I need for add a block storage?
Isn't it 256 GB for $1.25/m?
Nope, a slice is required.
Sorry.
Probably means slice, which would be the smallest 1GB for $3.50/mo (Vegas-only). So 1GB KVM + 256GB storage for $4.75.
Isn't a slice a slab, and a slab a slice?
In any case, @omelas, just read the opening post carefully.
A slice is a slice, and a slab is a topping
A slab is a NeXTstation, and a slice is an increment of time.
NeXTstations were like pizza boxes: https://blog.pizzabox.computer/pizzaboxes/nextstation/
If you're still interested Karen loaded a little bit of stock this morning.
Francisco
This block storage is incredibly cheap! Looks like I may have to grab a slice, and a 256GB slab to start out and setup something like Nextcloud on it.
When will you have more stock? Just checked all 2G and above are gone...
What plan are you interested in? We'll for sure have more on the 10th, but Karen can likely rebalance some stock in the morning if you know what's catching your eye.
I'm assuming you'd like a slab with your slice?
Francisco
@Francisco
I am so hyped for storage slabs coming over to europe.
1x 2G slice with a 256G slab probably.
May I have a test IP for CN2 GIA as well? Thanks.
I just got my very first BuyVM VPS and block storage slab and I'm super impressed with it so far! Performance, Stallion, price, etc is really wonderful. A few years ago I had sales question (or something like that) and had dealt with that Aldryc? person and his tone kinda put me off from trying BuyVM at the time. Def happy I decided to finally try them out now though can't wait to play around with FreeBSD and some zfs pools with the block storage later on.
Sounds like fun
We can add a FreeNAS ISO (if there isn't one already) if that tickles your fancy.
Francisco
@Francisco
Could you please add the Fedora Atomic ISO? https://getfedora.org/en/atomic/download/
This is a favorite of mine for launching K8s clusters
Just ticket and i'll add it
