All this hack/CC/CVPS/LET drama in a nutshell

LEA sold the site to Chief, because LEA refused to sell to a hosting provider, and Chief flipped it to CC/CVPS.

Also, Chief is bed ridden with medical problems and likely medical bills.
Wave a money in front of people's faces and see what happens ;-)
So we ended up at a hosting provider anyways. Oh well.
Who was Chief anyways?
http://www.extremekites.com.au/ thats what Chief is doing now.
Was it sold recently or what?
I've missed lot of things
I think it was sold to CC in late 2012.
I want one. Suspect not lowend though.
Who the hell pays 50,000$ for a forum like this though? Oh wait... CC.
I have two and unfortunately they're not < $7 ;(
That's news to me, never know about that. Though this was independent network or what not
Which is why I'm asking for figures on the other thread. If you buy the forum for $50k, I would expect some decent revenue.
TL;DR
Can you summarise it? It's all too complicated.
I know several years back when IB (Internet Brands) bought ModelMayhem.com, it was estimated to be around 1 to 1.5 million they paid for it (that year they bought something like 12 sites at 20 mil). Course they are actually chocking that site full of ads where ever they can put it, plus paid memberships.
LEA -> Chief -> CC
LowEndSummary!
LEA didn't sell shit son.
LEA wanted to sell the site and came to me about it. He was originally wanting me to take over but since it would have caused too much of a stir I brought Joel into the discussion.
Francisco
Thanks, I think I get it!
Canceled
LEA -> Francisco -> Chief -> CC
FTFY
@bobsbugs Yep, as a longtime reader I know certain facts but might be inappropriate to reveal.
Never went into Francisco's hands.
@neroux A PROVIDER JUST SWORE!
Not officially but I did handle the migration from linode since Joel was up to his ears in his own work.
Francisco
Never said it did. I was just demonstrating how the site moved.
@Francisco At that time I was hoping that you take over LEB/LET
It would have caused the same issue that CC has had The difference is I would have at least been upfront about it, like @kujoe was when he was writing.
Francisco
That's the most important thing.
What is the most solid evidence for Colocrossing owning ChicagoVPS? Most solid, please. And @SysAdmin if you care to comment after someone has posted, that would be great.
Two? Give me one! I had a "wind wagon" as a kid, similar but homebuilt . . . probably not as fast . . .
For a little while, maybe.
This is the remedy for the issue
