I think UK and IE guys are confused because his was a DE offer and UK link worked.
@MrGeneral I'll confirm yeah, and give them links. Personally I think UK team aren't even aware this offer is on haha
Pretty sure it wasn't, it's a one-off server rather than part of any range. I reckon we're good.
Actually, support informed nothing. Again, this is about BHS.
@imok I received a different reply for my order which is in BHS as well:
"We apologize for that delay and let me reassure you that your server should be delivered in less than 10 days. We've experienced a surge in orders after that promotion, which was very successful."
I'm still waiting for delivery on mine (GRA). It's "en cours" since yesterday.
still talking to them over the ticket, they said nobody in BHS is aware of this promotion, this promotion is for European account only, and I should have able to order BHS from Europe account. So who's to blame for that i missed my promotion? should have done this in Europe
the ordering system of OVH seems to allow some kind of manipulation of ordering URLs which may result in orders being possible that don't even exist. so don't be surprised if they deny that order because you used a non official order link.
as far as europe accounts or european order links are concerned, there has been not a single one that allowed ordering a server in BHS.
@Falzo that's true but strangely for BHS:
"We apologize for that delay and let me reassure you that your server should be delivered in less than 10 days. We've experienced a surge in orders after that promotion, which was very successful."
Should I begin to suspect about their reply?
Just got a reply from the IE people, they confirmed that the price is recurring and not a 3 month promotion. Exact words were :
thanks, hopefully we can now close on that price discussion, even if @Lee won't get his laugh in three months ^^
>
Totally agree with you; for context I asked simple question
Don't think I'll bother replying to the ticket - OVH team are probably confused as I ordered on a .co.uk link and this was a .de deal, etc etc.
Great news, thanks
I will, $5 on it.
EVERYONE - if this does all go tits up, let's keep quiet, then we can split that $5 between us all #cashback
I'm in with $10! (Price will stay)
I don't want it to go wrong, you know how much I hate being right on LET...
The price will stay the same, i was on the phone to ovh uk support earlier about a hardware issue on one of my other ovh servers and asked the guy on the phone after a few mins on hold he said it was recurring.
Got some nice support as well. They want me to prove that we as a business (from Europe) don't have to pay vat. Let the game begin
Update:sent them info to the European law for this. Their reply:
Got validated, but two hours too late, so my order expired. So no server for me.
Hope I get in on the next good deal.
Idk what are you guys talking, I see stock in there
Where do you see stock?
FWIW, I have a business outside the EU. From creating the account to having it approved and having my business validated it took only roughly one hours. They even called me to inform me that I shouldn't have paid in advance since now they couldn't remove VAT for me anymore from the first invoice. No problem with me, but nice to call me in person. So I guess it really depends on who of support is currently in charge.
I know. At first I thought they were taking the piss at me but the woman is dead serious about it. Even kimsufi got it sorted for future invoices within minutes. If they can't get it right I'll drop the server for sure. Not about the money but there's no way I'm supporting the French in any way by paying VAT
Edit: I'll give them a call after the weekend and see what their support has to say.
Mexican tease...
I managed to get another 3 KS-1's about about an hour ago all with an N2800 whilst you were all diverted to OVH
Ks3
Or what are we talking about?
Did you supply your VAT ID in your details? shouldn't be an issue then, as this VAT ID could be tested via VIES and proves your status.
if you don't have a VAT ID you may need to apply for one in your country.
nevertheless if they charge VAT within europe they MUST charge the VAT of your country.
I have a VAT ID and supplied it, yet I am billed by the german department of OVH so for sure get an invoice with german VAT which I get refunded by the local tax authorities.
Yeah I have supplied our VAT ID from the start. I can understand you have to request vat removal after paying your first bill but the woman handling my request has never even heard of vat exemption which is weird. At kimsufi they just checked the ID via VIES and that was that.
I could go for getting it refunded through Dutch tax authorities and let my accountant handle it although it's not the way it's supposed to be handled as far as I'm aware.
I agree, that's not the intended way and if I am not mistaken the dutch tax authorities won't refund you french VAT at all.
it may be comparable to refueling the business car on a trip to that country... you probably need to go to a french customs office or something like that when crossing the borders. at least in germany you can't simply declare a foreign VAT as pre-tax to get it back.
from what link or ovh branch you have ordered and which VAT is shown on your invoice? maybe you could try and reach out to another customer agent to just give it another shot.
I canceled my order
in uk for non-residency some kind soul who transferred me your server
I'm getting there but slowly. Somehow I managed to order from my Dutch account through their French website. Someone actually called me about the issue. On my invoice it wrongly stated their French branch so I wouldn't have to pay vat. As I have a Dutch account they changed the invoice to one from OVH NL so now I do pay vat but get it back from the tax authority like I normally would doing business with a Dutch company
