Thanks!
Connor
Yeah. When initially this post was made @Connorl just wanted to be angry and post it on LET. After a few edits it came to this.
Relax, take a step back, and then just keep on trying to get the problem fixed. If you have a support ticket with them wait for it to be answered. If you're being unreasonable then they'll take their time.
My mistake, ran it on the wrong server, now I am getting these speeds:
[root@node10 ~]# python speedtest-cli.py --share

Retrieving speedtest.net server list...

Speedtest.net isn't really made for testing gigabit servers; their scope is mostly for testing residential ISPs.
Soooo......
And, Its just got worse, This one is from Colo@'s server (WireSix),

@RyanD?
@Damian
Failure...
Host a large file, post the link, and some people can test it?
@Connorl As has been posted previously, speedtest is not going to give accurate results.
@Damian, Interally, to another WireSix node:
a.log 4% 93MB 697.2KB/s 47:50 ETA
And.. A 2GB File: http://6.71.244.50/a.log
Just run "wget http://cachefly.cachefly.net/100mb.test -O /dev/null"
Speedtest.net is not the best.. besides, you have relatively high latency to the test server (36 ms) so it's only natural that you don't get desired results.
Yeah do that, that will give a more accurate representation.
Im talking about upload speed, However:
[root@node10 ~]# wget http://cachefly.cachefly.net/100mb.test -O /dev/null

arizona, usa
spb, russia
The speed on the first went lower when I started downloading the second.
@superpilesos, Can we assume its not speedtest.net?
Burstnet
Orlando, FL - SemoWeb
Now it's fast from everywhere. even full 100Mbit/s from SPB. Did something change?
No... Thats odd.
I'm betting that there are a lot of others downloading simultaneously which is causing speed to go down, but at times it seems like I'm maxing out your port. I am consistently getting at least 50 Mbps.
Right.
I just tried to wget your a.log and got about 8mb/s from sweden and 100 kb/s from germany. I don't know what to make of it though.
Try tracerouting. See if there's any bumps in the network.
Okay, All resolved now, Thank you.
If you are convinced that the duplex issue is resolved, maybe you could have them swap out your Ethernet cable?
It's very clearly a duplex mismatch, even the switch error counters show the mismatch.
Connor reports he's now set the duplex to 100/Full and I can clearly see flows > 50-60mbps outbound from the server.
Again, nothing wrong with the network, these are basic server admin tasks that from time to time, for what ever reason, be it kernel or driver version, a NIC does not properly negotiate duplex. This will always result in lop-sided transfer rates.

@dominicI this is not a support system!!
