Seattle, Custom Backbone. Best purchase I've ever made... But how do they even maintain such a good network and yet sell at such prices...
I don't need it. I don't need it. I don't need it. -_-
Bought 2 lol. This will be my mini experimental box.
Debian 8 installed.
box1 : nginx + php-fpm
box 2 : mariadb
My vps's speed is your test a few months ago.Now,it's my

I bought 1 for testing purpose and have been setting up with CentOS + MySQL + Nignx + PHP. It work fine with only 64MB RAM and still have available memory in this tiny box.
[root@CT1105 ~]# cat bench.log
[root@CT1105 ~]# df -h
[root@CT1105 ~]# cat /proc/meminfo
[root@CT1105 ~]# free -m
Before Setup The VPS Server
After Setup The VPS Server and Installing MySQL + Nginx + PHP
[root@CT1105 ~]# ./speedtest-cli
This box really surprise me that it work with the Let's Encrypt SSL Certificate.
The only drawback is the yum was not fully functioning well as the process was Killed. A manually install take longer time to complete the installation.
I'll just leave this for anyone coming by next time:
You CANNOT upgrade to Ubuntu 16.04 with this. Not enough RAM :P
I have boxes from as little as 64MB RAM to 4096MB RAM, none of my 64MB boxes made it through :P If you need to upgrade in the future, don't buy this, unless you wanna pay $2 (which is the price of a new box)
Agree with you. Since there are no SWAP space, it will be hard for us to update / upgrade the system in future. I can easily work with 128MB box without problem.
No need to paid $2 for reinstalling the OS. To me, if anything go wrong, force to reinstall the corrupted package will do. Once you have setup correctly in the beginning without mess up with others package. You're done.
I will prefer to purchase another package with $2 rather than reinstall the OS. Otherwise, just buy the SSD version will do. You can reinstall at any time.
Since this is just for testing purpose, nothing important can be use in this box.
+1, buy a new server, since same price as the server itself haha! Ubuntu 14.04 -> Ubuntu 16.04 upgrades get killed on my 64MB boxes, though! I use these 64MB boxes for Syncthing :P
It works fine on 128MB, though.
Wow, just got one with ip 63.223..
The network connection is great, really happy with it so far, paid for 3 yeas
It's like getting a big mac for $0.01, too good to be true, so where is the catch?
Wow, you are "clever" than me that paying for 3 years at the cost of $1.5 per year. This is by far the cheapest VPS. Congrat...
I was thinking to buy 3 years plan and upgrade to 128MB with just $3 per 3 year. Cost will be adjusted to $4.49 + $3 = $7.49. Then, you can use the VPS for 3 years with 128MB RAM. This is by far even better and happy to use it.
$7.49 / 3 years is way over my budget, I will stick with the $4.49 / 3 years plan
@linuxclark
Yeah, it depends on your budget. Clearly that your Math is better than me.
Might deadpool anyday. And we've all(mostly) bought knowing so.
Damn it I couldn't resist and bought one
However I know it is a matter of time until they become deadpool because it's too good to be true
Anyway, everything is working great for now though
Welcome to the club.
Hopefully not, it seems they own the IP space, run their own network, I do not think this one is a summer hosts.
Someone bring this to our attention so we're just gonna chime in, we've been in business since 1997, and we own our own data center, our own network, our own IPs, so no, we're not going anywhere.
This is simply a limited time offer, introducing freeserver.us, price can increase at anytime, especially after it gains popularity. So if you're in the fence now, best to signup immediately, before the price goes up. :-)
If you signed up now, price renewal will stay the same.
@sentris welcome aboard
That is very useful info, hosts own their own hardware tends to be more stable. Thank you for letting us know
Looks legit: http://freeserver.us/make-money/
Too bad Seattle is very far from europe
Can I use FUSE Filesystem on this VPS , because OpenVZ has some problems with FUSE (or it's not activated by default)
Yes? I think you need to ask them via support and most hosts will turn it on.
@sentris Is it free?
Any support for IPv6 ?
Thanks.
No
damn, had to get one...
