    BuyVM

I was on pm41 -> pm47 (had a RAID issue one week, assumed failure, then was OK) - then completely died - But was restored and up on a new node within hours... Prometeus truly did handle that with grace. Some VPS hosts don't even keep backups of the containers.

  • My best uptime was with an ipv6 freebie.
Was rebooted some days ago with a new kernel...
Anyway I am afraid to update it from lenny =/

I've had a great experience with Hostigation so far, been up since I got it (almost 4 months). TinyVZ rebooted so many times I lost count, didn't have the good experiences posted here so will be moving off them when it expires, if it gets worst I'll just cancel and move on. Their good node I guess has been at capacity and they don't add users to it. I definitely can't recommend them but I absolutely love Hostigation since it actually is up and stable (both are my first LEB providers).

Any recommendations for which LEB provider I should go with next for uptime and network availability? Was thinking of IperWeb since I'm not sure if there's any others stateside aside Hostigation that can offer uptime + network availability. RamNode has DDOS alerts posted to Twitter pretty often (sometimes multiple in same day), and everyone on the LEB IRC room recommended against BuyVM. These appear to be the two best currently per the Top 3 poll in the US so figured EU is my next best bet.

It's time for updates! Everyone please contribute, I'd like to hear how all the new hosts in the past 2 years are doing with respect to uptime (as well as old ones). :)

I'm just shy of a year of uptime at hostigation and ramhost (will shortly be 365 days), meaning they've been up since I purchased them so big kudos to them, pretty amazing. The few providers I did try I ended up leaving since I realized quality is a rarity. The only one I hadn't cancelled yet was ReliableHostingServices which I've had for most of 2013, and while I'm sure there are worse providers, they're far from reliable or worth the money (at least for me).

So, I gave some updates, everyone else please chime in with your VPS's that have the best uptime! Thanks :)

Looks like a shameless plug, please spam other threads if that's the case. :\
Claiming a host is stable is a bit pointless in this thread without posting the uptime. Example below...

    Hostigation:
    18:17:50 up 327 days, 2:15, 1 user, load average: 0.28, 0.33, 0.33

If the shameless plug were for a top 3 provider however, I'd have no reason to question it... the only VPS's I've achieved year long uptimes are with former top 3 providers.

Wont have to since I don't need to.

  • Shouldn't performance be prioritized over uptime? Uptime in % sure is important, but I don't mind small downtime for updates or hardware upgrades.

By no means my longest uptime, but ksplice works well for disregarding reboots

Oh, your clearly not as shameless as me ;) Didn't realise we had to boast uptimes here, just sharing my 2c's.

Seriously though do you guys ever restart your VPS's?

For OpenVz, it's hard to know what your real uptime is these days, with CTs being suspended rather than stopped/started (ref).

This thread is about uptime, nothing more. People discussed your ? on the earlier pages however...

I stay logged into my VPS's/monitor their availability so I know they've been up as long as the command indicates.

Saying 'any top 3 provider' is not plugging any specific one... and if you bothered to read the thread or even the subject, you could see it was about the best uptimes and people were providing proof via the uptime command.. there's plenty of places for people to spam at, let's keep this thread clean however!

I personally use this thread to review what kind of uptimes providers have, nothing more, nothing less. It's interesting to me and this is the only thread where uptimes are shared without people going on tangents/spamming/etc. Thanks all for contributing, keep them coming!

Nice to see they are still at the top of the pack for uptime. Anyone have uptimes for the Prometeus Texas location? Wondering if their service differs any from their location in Italy.

Texas has no IPv6 thanks to Incero, nor rDNS on some IPs due to their panel being broken.
Other than that it was launched 2 months ago at most, so uptimes cant be big.

  • Thread is from 2012 - just noticed :)

But you have no way of knowing if a period of downtime is purely network, or hardware.
