@pubcrawler Case closed.
I think that's called avoidance
I've always used VPSES. In short form that is the way of calling it, but not "virtual private server".
Between it's not a language forum..........and.... I don't find anyone with credit to argue here, can anyone confirm this with your high school teachers? lol
@sleddog,
The plural of VPS (Virtual Private Server) could be VPSs, but, no one here is thinking of the right origin word and use.
VPS refers to the server with the virtualization software. The containers are not VPS or anything similar. They are VMs (virtual machines).
Cleaning up that muck gets rid of 90% of the VPS word use. Remaining 10% is basically providers and admins talking in specific terms about virtual platforms, where more than likely they wouldn't be abusing the VPS term incorrectly (well not as often).
Someone should do a research study about the adoption of VPS term, origin and how it became so widely wrong.
Well that's a different twist. Regardless, there could still be two or more of them....
To this day I've been using "VPSs", although I'm still not sure what's the correct way of saying it..
Huh? @RobertClarke? It's more than 3 months since this discussion ended.
@robertclarke VMs
Oh no @Liam, joining into a discussion which happened and concluded a long time ago!
+1
What was the conclusion?
And now you re-opening it again. For what?
@RobertClarke You've basically just re-started the LET equivalent of the Korean War...
+1 for VPSes
Nothing,just like it
VM's
That is definitely wrong.

Witnesses, because if you just added an s, it'd be witnesss, which makes no sense. English has so many rules, and so many EXCEPTIONS to those rules.
That was my point back then, and the next logical step would be VPS -> VPSes because VPSs just doesn't sound right. Or at least i don't know how to pronounce it.
I switch between VPSs and VPSes randomly, depending on the mood I'm in.
So...
What mood are you in now?
I'm in a "Virtual Private Servers" mood.
Most Indeededly.
VPS = Virtual Private Server => the plural form is Virtual Private Servers = VPSs
@Chronic Just doesn't sound right to say something like:
"I have a lot of VPS"
It's VPSs
It doesn't sound any worse than using the possessive form of a name ending with "s". Doesn't mean it's not correct though.

This is stupid.
