Here's my post from nearly four years ago:
http://www.lowendtalk.com/discussion/882/anyone-using-virtualizor
Three things stand out:
Interesting that, nearly four years later, these issues still seem to be present. Is there any actual desire to make the system solid and bulletproof, or is there just a drive to add shiny new features that break easily?
If you have checked our logs folder :
/var/virtualizor/ACTION/VPSID.log
You will see a whole new level of logging. We are still improving that to make it available in the Admin Panel. So yes there is a system we made and rolled out in its first stages a few months back. And are making a new Tasking system to link it with the logs.
Now thats useful to find out about. Hope you can resolve the broken existing VM's soon.
How can I see this without logging into the host node? I run a panel because I don't want to log into the system and do things manually; I want to click a button and have it completed. I'm not managing ten VMs, I'm managing ten thousand VMs, so clicking a button and having it work is paramount; I can't waste time waiting for the panel to error out with a useless message like "there was some error" and then having to drop everything and troubleshoot the actual error; this isn't conducive to efficient use of my time.
Everything that's used to manage VMs (vzctl, libvirt, xm/xl, etc) all either exit with a status code, or dumps text back about the issue, so it's really inexcusable that after several years this still hasn't been addressed.
As much as Solus gets bashed, I don't recall the last time I had to log in and fix something that it was to have done automatically. This is at a company with thousands of VMs, so there's excellent opportunity for it to make a mistake.
If I switch to Virtualizor, am I able to get a refund for my monthly license fee when I have to log in and do things manually that the panel I'm paying for still has issues like this years later?
I agree to it. Within the next month the new system will be live with logging and tasking from the panel. It was necessary to push out the new UI to make this change possible.
That's funny that's what you guys said to me 5 - 6 weeks ago, and about 8 months before that.
Sadly the upcoming version ended up being a UI update.
edit: removed at request of OP along with a few other posts.
I am just happy SolusVM V2 will have an import feature so I can be done with this.
@virtualizor back now, can I have an update other than "vps is working" ?
I hope it wasn't just a marketing stunt but I am not holding my breath.
EDIT - Screw this @virtualizor, files randomly being destroyed with no logs (nice of you to finally share the log location, and I agree with @Damian) so must be a manual issue? Why would I destroy a live client VM?
Had enough of this cat and mouse. Taken months to get working IPv6 rDNS and now you can't explain why your own module and platform have deleted VM data. No changes for months but of course it can't be your product
I asked the tech and he is still looking at your issue :
1) Newly created VPS are working from WHMCS. That was solved I guess.
I will ask for the other update.
Thats not what I would call the high priority issue now.
I can understand every aspect here, but if you ask me i prefer virtualizor over solus and you cant deny fact that they are trying and listening for suggestions.
We will see as time passes. I suppose that this was nice reality check, a bit brutal but honest. @virtualizor, also i am suggesting you that you listen to forum members here, this is actual industry with actual problems and with actual solutions.
Now, everyone back in CestPit no one posted any food or pets today.
Thanks for suddenly going offline on Skype @virtualizor with no updates from your techs at all for about 2 hours. Got a bunch of failed admin logins to WHMCS from yourselves and thats it; far from impressed, had enough and looking at migration paths to other solutions.
you don't seem to understand WTF logging is about. logging what happened is good. logging WHEN it happened is also good.
spot what is wrong with this
and
really? finished what?
also, the path is /var/virtualizor/log/
I have my own long list of issues with Virtualizor. and they seem to be different what has already been posted.
I like to know what other problems are out there, and what are being fixed. I tried giving feedback, suggestions, and bug reports, but have never had any response from them. the only way I get help is by submitting a ticket. I'm happy with their prompt response on many occasions, but I'm still having to struggle with Virtualizor every week, and often every day.
A lot of my problems would have been avoided by better documentation, and logging.
I've tried using the forum. it doesn't work. but perhaps one good use would be for all of us here to add their bugs, so that others can see what is going on. so they can learn to avoid problems, learn how things work, etc.
I'd also like to suggest that the WHMCS module is setup in github, so that others can contribute their own fixes and additions. others here have said the module is broken, so they fixed it. I'm tired of having to check file dates to see if there's any changes posted. if virtualizor aren't going to make the module fit for purpose, and least we might be able to help each other here. anyone willing to share their changes?
Any updates for me @virtualizor? WHMCS log seems to be "empty" as its not showing anything new from your since last night? No replies on Skype either.
When is your dev going to look into this? Already had to issue refunds and look like a spanner due to your system.
More false promises from you guys it seems, thanks for whats going to be a "fun" weekend.
Exactly the same!, was told I would hear back end of Friday with a fix for my problem, absolutely nothing back, so now have a fun manual weekend of orders & muckups.
@virtualizor thanks for resolving some of the issues.

.
I stopped doing this as I never get feedback on any suggestions given, or followup on bugs reported. try something like www.userreport.com
How is this compared to Proxmox ?
Proxmox will generally work without issue day in and day out. It's not flashy, but it's solid.
Virtualizor will roll out updates that generally don't fix much, while announcing that they'll fix major problems that have been around for years "soon".
I wouldn't base a business on Virtualizor. I'd choose Solus before I would choose Virtualizor. Read through this forum posting.
200 servers running proxmox we have, never heard of Virtualizor reason i asked. I'll just stick with Proxmox
