"Had"? If you cancelled that one, then you are a FOOL
this is perhaps the absolutely best CPU one could get on a Kimsufi.
Well, other than the AMD Phenom X3 someone got, but that's even more rare.
Whats the best way to benchmark the performance between this and my VPS? Both on Debian.

@NateN34 this benchmark utilizes multi-core and hyperthreading, i.e. not what I was talking about (single-core performance).
I have both the n2800 and the celeron and yes I can say with confidence that the celeron is faster with single thread work.
As it's stated on OVH website:
make me laugh as it's not true, their normal response is 24 hours, the support don't exist.
it should be: Technical and commercial advice: None.
Using mine for some win2008 server testing. Thought id run a speed test:

I can live with that
Just got mine today, less than 24 hours from the payment.

An update.
05-Nov OVH thinks 9GB, vnstat thinks 372GB - difference 362GB
19-Nov OVH thinks 423GB, vnstat thinks 1.21TB - difference 816GB
like 90%+ of the traffic has been between this box and one outside OVH's network, so the discrepancy can't be put down to OVH-OVH internal traffic. Their monitoring kit is just buggered.
Sounds like a good deal for us though!
OVH -- Consumed this month: 111 GiB
vnstat -- Nov '12 220.42 GiB | 299.19 GiB | 519.61 GiB
Ordered the mks 2g and got:

quiet impressed
I ordered an mKS 2G on Friday and I'm expecting it to finish being setup tomorrow. Hopefully I'll get one of the better processors.
Can anyone specify the previous spects just for the record?
They set mine up just a minute ago which is a bit odd considering it is the middle of the night in France. I ended up with the same CPU as @ghoulnet.
Not sure how many times this has to be stated but OVH to certain peers does not count either. OVH's network is very complex.
And in the end it benefits you anyways so quite your complaining.
1) this needs to be stated precisely one time, on the OVH official website; are you an OVH representative? no? then what you say is simply some unproven hearsay;
2) no one was complaining, only you just now; and I for one am very glad people keep sharing this info, that the bandwidth is not counted in full makes me consider getting a server even with the new 5TB limit;
3) it's "quit", not "quite".
Read this thread and you'll see the previous specs.
if you want to get a second dedi from them, should it be paid yearly? Any info ?
Why pay yearly?
I own two dedicated servers from Kimsufi. I pay each monthly.
@halfeatenpie what the hell you do with all these vps/dedicated servers?
No need to pay yearly, it doesn't effect what they end up giving you. One month leases are easily renewed or forgotten about. Making them perfect, for me anyhow.
Additionally there are a few automation tools you can use within their manager that will allow you to auto-renew selected servers if you're worried about staying up to date on your lease.
They also recently changed their ordering/nic operations. They now allow me to add certain nic handles (people I trust obviously) as the admin contact, with admin permissions in the manager but still have my own nic setup as the billing contact. Haven't used this yet, seems like a mess.. but I noticed it was recently added.
Now..time to put my tinfoil hat on. When they have 20-15 minis listed on their website attempt to grab one. If you got lucky and are hooked up with the n2800 dualcore 1.86atom go ahead and try a few more times, more times than not you'll get the same specs. P.S -- I was getting n2800s as of one hour ago, I recommend trying at least. No promises.
/tinfoil hat off.
@Taz It's an addiction! But most people use them for znc and seedboxes unfortunately. Now that I'm against that, there's just so many neat things you can do with one:)
I would assume for the price most of the people who don't traditionally use them for torrenting would like to use them for test servers/projects. Multiple O/S to choose from, one click installs (yea it's not always ideal to remotely install your o/s, but it doesn't hurt to let them do it and then go modify it to your liking)
You can find out in my comment history what I do with them.
Oh... and...
I just got another dedi today.
Has anyone ever gotten their servers wiped? I've read some forum posts that they don't even warn you before wiping?
Wiped?
They will wipe them after 5 days, if you don't pay your invoice.
Damn u @halfeatenpie, I now have a 2nd dedi there!
EDIT: and it was a D425...may try my luck again next month...
Ordered one mKS 2G but I dont need it anymore,
if you are interested send me a message

@harleqin Just a heads up, the transfer process is painful and has to be done by regular mail as it requires photocopies of ID from both parties, and they won't accept faxes. You can just change the account details, but then the new owner has access to all your personal details from the initial emails which are recorded in the KimSufi manager.
I'm hoping at somepoint OVH brings over the little kimsufi's to BHS. It says that the larger ones are there already.
