If they're unable to do something about it, I'll move to another provider ;P
Thanks for posting this @MrGeneral was considering CC Buffalo due to the DDoS Mitigation. but given the saturation you are seeing above and others are displaying I doubt they even have enough capacity in their Buffalo Location to handle any large sized floods also I have seen this before in various other threads.
You're welcome @clamhost. I won't be providing paid services until this gets sorted.
We haven't had the chance to test their RioRey devices, at yet, nor I'm adversiting it. Do let me know if you want a free KVM trial so you can check out the network speeds (assuming they'll improve it).
I have submitted ticket, they always sort things like this but it takes a few hours. Their actual location is stable, just speeds can sometimes drop a little.
Chicago, Atlanta, Texas, LA and NYC Metro all have good speed speed though.
Yes according to the bench I'm seeing here, their other locations are just fine, although Buffalo seems to be extremelly oversold.
I was told to run another benchmark as they've modified "something" (just been told to re-run the tests), Dallas dropped from 30MB/s to 1MB/s and the test is still running, reaaaaally slow.
Take your time spent. Multiply it by what you think a fair hourly rate is = how much you lost on the fiasco vs another DC with another provider.
Look outside window- would you rather be there or solving CC issues with minimal CC help?
You also pay your reseller to deliver the network to you. Whether friends or not- it's his responsibility to resolve the issue (that is why he gets his premium over ordering directly). Make them earn it and fix your problem.
I'd rater solve the issues myself, heh, but it's not an option right now, so I'm giving them a few more days to sort this out, otherwise I'll simply move.
Yes, it looks like the issue is the DC itself. There was even a thread a few weeks ago regarding the speeds in that DC. http://lowendtalk.com/discussion/43341/colocrossing-s-buffalo-ny-network-is-slowing-down-too-many-spammers/p1
Could you be rate limited? Our system auto rate limits servers to prevent abuse, that's a common issue people see when your trying to get maximum throughput. Open a ticket and we will look at it.
after doing a benchmark from my VPS @ CC, it is now offline an won't boot
seems CC didn't like the "incoming DoS"
Cause their Buffalo location is
shitgarbage. We'd love to work with you @clamhost, send me a PM or email and we can talk directly.
I don't believe you are a direct customer, are you sure you're talking about our support ignoring you? I think that is highly unlikely.
Their Dallas location is awesome:
Friday isn't that good on routing, even it often times out from my location.
That is not correct. I mentioned that I purchased this server through a reseller, and he has posted my questions to your team. I've also emailed you and you replied to my email right now.
Edit: I've worked for a previous companies with many servers there, thousands, and the support was quite good, hence why I signed up with CC (through a reseller).
Thank you!
Their buffalo network was horrid. When i asked them if this was normal on their network, they replied to me saying "yes, this is normal" lol.
Back to normalish now.

Indeed, that was their reply.

Ok, no improvement.
@MrGeneral
It's now time to give up and move I think
@MrGeneral:
Isn't it ironic? BuyVM once left Colocrossing for the lack of quality of their Buffalo network (and for other reasons) and now you use them to benchmark the CC network...
Indeed! :P
Thank you very much!
CC, Buffalo:
The test took nearly 20 minutes to complete, incredible...
CC, Chicago (formally GVH) - See the capped CPU ?:
A little better
And then, there is always the leader:
Can you guess who it is ?
Damnit, CC Buffalo with low speeds, not good at all. They're working on it according to the last emails I've been receiving.
I've never seen good speeds in Buffalo, IMHO.
That's not good.
Just wanted to update this thread:
First test:
It seems the network speeds have improved, which is excellent!
