Last I heard people still complain about getting servers which lock-up under load (solved by redeploying to a different node via shutdown+start).

My servers stopped locking up (and performance got much better) when I updated to the newest kernels before launch. I think they solved the problem and the launch seems to coincide with that.

FYI - Just received this email:

    Dear Cloud Rider,

A few days ago, we announced the public launch of Online Labs under the Scaleway brand!
This would never have happened without your help and your support over the past months.
We are more than grateful for all your advices on our services. Thank you!

Scaleway has a lot of new features, you can read more about it here.

In order to continue to enjoy the Scaleway platform, we need you to complete your billing information!
As the Scaleway experience would never be the same without you, your account has been granted for one free month of use on all services.

    COMPLETE MY BILLING INFORMATION

In 2 days, on Thursday, April 9th, your account will be locked if your billing and payment information have not been provided.

Well use in the EU. ONLY. :P

  • So how does the billing work? I spun up a C1 instance for an hour and I have a bill of 0.70 EUR.

    From their example https://www.scaleway.com/faq/billing/#-How-to-read-my-invoice
the invoices are painstakingly detailed down to every last bit of what you paid for.
    So what does yours say?

  • Wish they had a US location. I think Scaleway looks pretty cool but most of my visitors are in the US and I'm not sure if that would work out to well.

Delete the IP after you deleted a server... because IP is still there at network tab.

So if you forget about to delete.. then you have to pay!

Ah, that helps a lot. So whenever you deploy an instance and destroy it, the IP isn't destroyed (like what DO does), so I was charged 0.69 EUR for that reserved IP.

The speed to US is abysmally low unfortunately. I noticed when trying to move data to a Us server - full meh.
