Do you have a ticket ID? We've been a bit understaffed this weekend. Aldryic's fighting a cold and I've been busy smacking my head over a Jersey box. I'm still actively working on it to figure things all out, finally made some headway a little bit ago.
We had some issues on our webserver in LV around the same time so it was a bit messy at times.
I don't understand why people can't wait as they complain for ticket being not answered. You should have waited. A site is doen't mean it is down due to DDoS, may have been upgradation to the site.

To be fair we're usually very much on the ball with ticket times so 6 hours waiting is very out of the norm for us.
There's no need to be hard on the OP or anything, they've done nothing wrong and I apologize for the issues that node has had and the slower response times.
With that being said, SSD's and all that good stuff arrived in NJ and are currently being planned out. 128MB's are getting their much needed face lift as well.

BuyVM.net has set a high standard in replying ticket. Often, you will get an almost immediate reply.
I should have read my email. It's too late for me to do anything now.

Not anymore, no.
We used CNServers a long time ago but we had serious issues with their stance on certain customers.
I'm not sure why we'd downgrade our offerings from 100gbit+ to CNS' 10 - 20gbit protection, especially since CNS is now using voxility for at least some of their filtering.
Francisco said: We used CNServers a long time ago but we had serious issues with their stance on certain customers.
Well you can't just say that without people being curious.
Was it
some customers attract too many attacks
some customers host porn and they don't like it
some customers host octopus hentai and refused to share
some customers hosted the Zion mainframe in a desperate fight against evil machines who were enslaving mankind with the Matrix in order to use humans as batteries
TL;DR they hate the chinese (even though i'm fairly sure the owner is in China).
If you have a client that ran anything MMO related, or gameserver related, and was Chinese? Welcome to nullville, population, your clients.
Aldryic had very heated arguments with them over it since they'd null customers then claim DDOS attacks that were never, ever, accurate. One client we had at awknet was eating ~300k pps spoofed SYN floods, yet the minute we get into CNS and they see it's a chinese MMO, they're "suddenly getting 10gbit+ of spoofed SYN".
The service was alright once we explained to users how UDP was handled in their location.
Francisco said: If you have a client that ran anything MMO related, or gameserver related, and was Chinese? Welcome to nullville, population, your clients.
They told us once that we was to remove a client. as he got a 1Gbps sustained attack. due to a dispute on his IRC Server. and there was several other occasions when they told us to remove clients for hosting certain DDoS Prone services for clients.
In our case they went resolving domains and pulling google caches and all that.
We fought, the client stayed (even though CNS would randomly null them and never inform us), and once we moved them to Staminus we never had another null/complaint minus when NTP floods first came out and were pushing 80gbit.
Francisco/Buyvm. Stop spreading your lies while you know nothing about ddos protection.
You pay ~$200 a month to protect multiple /24s and expect us to protect your high risk (> 20Mpps) chinese clients. We have other customers to protect, we have our own network to protect, these clients of yours are causing issues to other customers. so we ask you to move them to another network. You refused, so either you leave or we keep null routing them. Nobody wants null routing, but that's what you get when you only pay $200/m and expect 40G+ protection. We only guarantee you 1Gbps protection, and we always keep our word. You don't like it that's fine, go to other providers, but you shouldn't start to spread lies because we don't want to host you and your customers.
Clamhost, what are you talking about? You never are a customer of Cnservers.
CNSjack said: You pay ~$200 a month to protect multiple /24s and expect us to protect your high risk
Ehm...
1. Your prices are your issue, not anyone else's. If you cannot offer service at those prices, who's fault is that?
2. People come to a DDoS protected service because they are at risk. You expect to sell DDoS protection to people which are not being attacked?

Check my initial signup emails. Subnets went live and within a couple hours you blocked people for MMO.
I've not been a customer of CNS in years, maybe the owner has changed his tune since then but I assure you, that's how it was. I'll dig up the emails for a formal review if you want.
Go dig up your emails. We null route your IPs that attracts large attacks and advise you to remove the customer from our network because they were affecting our other customer. There is no way for us to "block" all people for MMO, this is simply not possible even technically.
We have nothing against chinese customers, in fact, one third of our customers are chinese.
Get your stories together. We don't want to host you, so you are being mad.
CNSjack said: Francisco/Buyvm. Stop spreading your lies while you know nothing about ddos protection.
That I have to say I found humorous.
CNSjack said: that's what you get when you only pay $200/m
Sounds like you should have drafted up a quote. Did you offer any change to the agreement when you recognized that you weren't able to meet the client's needs?
CNSjack said: We never promise to protect them from the large attacks they are attracting
I did read. Yet you are making different arguments.
Now to the points:
1. Large attacks, hum. OK, nobody expects you to offer 80 gbps protection for 40 gbps paid, yet nulling at 1 gbps is not correct. 1 Gbps can handle my home connection, albeit with some packet loss. If you null at 1 gbps, then you should sell 1 gbps protection, not 40 gbps.
2. Considering that was the deal, 1 gbps cutoff, then, ok, but if that happens, some proof is needed, then informing the customer is also required.
3. You cannot judge risk, that is not your job or right, if the IP is attacked in conditions exceeding the contract, you null, that is it, what is hosted there should never be your concern, you just inform the customer it was nulled and for that and that pps/flood at that and that hour and the time it will be released as per the contract.
4. It is not your concern how many IPs are protected, your only concern should be that the floods do not exceed the advertised protection threshold. Making the argument: "you cannot expect us to hold on our end of the bargain if you do this and that" will not score you any points, if you cannot provide the service, you are not making the deal.

Check your email if it's NJ. Issues with a node so they're migrating to the new hardware. I got an email this afternoon about it
No, they have advanced DDOS protection.

What DC in LV ?
Fiberhub. Issue was software, lighttpd took a dive. I'll probably replace it with NGINX one of these days, just old habits die hard :P

I have 24/7 access to fiberhub if you ever need remote hands let me know im cheaper than the DC and im 15 minute drive away.

cnservers have max 40GB udp and 100Gb for tcp
them great for protected tcp attack all of kinds tcp
Yes? And? Voxility is well past that and I'm sure CNS is using voxility for the TCP side :P
Francisco
i know more issue, about host tunnel with vox, never work 100% when get attack server lost packet,
blazingfast, hosteasy, hmaserve etc
and now i want test order buyvm
i hope not will same like them
Well, if you let me know what you're wanting to run we can work on custom setups or maybe give some feedback

Did you actually read my reply? We never promise to protect them from the large attacks they are attracting. Simple as that.
You refused to filter them, period, nevermind "large ones". You went on about how Cogent threatened you over past attacks with other clients, etc.
My point stands, you demanded we removed clients you didn't like.

I'm not bashing CNServers but you have told people in the past to remove clients. I have had servers in the past via a GRE with a different provider.
