@ksubedi just reported neximweb.com to mailchimp as known spammer

    **neximweb.com is known spammer! **

Let Google pick up this thread and the business is done, good luck selling another server out of BHS. Easy as that.

Everyone, in your email header there is this line:

X-Report-Abuse: Please report abuse for this campaign here:

Copy the URL after this text and go to that site and report abuse.

  • Just ban @ksubedi

Ban him won't solve the problem, if he get his business through this way he'll always be happy to keep spamming, just probably under a different LET ID.

Best way is to drive him out of the business, then he'll learn this is the wrong way to attract customers.

@mpkossen is this sort of shit bannable behaviour?

From our side it's a difficult one. Morally it's wrong but without really knowing how he got the DB is where our issues are. I mean Jonny used to give out his WHMCS credentials to every blind man and his dog and full access to staff. It may be that he took it from the last dump that circulated the web or somewhere else.

Bannable? For what? The behaviour is without question wrong, but he did nothing here on LET to encourage a ban.

What he has done is something that affects a proportion of members here and that has led to this discussion.

This is really an issue between GVH, @Ksubedi and the client receiving the mail.

As you know, if we were to ban people here for something they did outside of LET then that would kill off most of our posting population.

Unless something changes or this thread develops which leads to something else that shows he broke the rules I will leave it there. That does not mean people need to go on the hunt though!

  • Gotcha, you need me to hunt for evidence, on it boss.

Am I the only one who didn't get it? I have account with GVH with no services.

To be completely honest, I don't care about any spam I receive, it takes me a few seconds to flush the mailbox.

I didn't get it either. Maybe we can establish by the signup dates of the people who received/didn't receive the spam when the database was stolen.

I signed up with GVH on September 6th, 2014 and haven't received the spam.

  • Signed up 11/23/2013 also diden't get nothing.

  • mikhomikho Member, Host Rep

If everyone who ever was a customer with GVH could post their details and when they signed up and if they recieved the email or not.
and then we compare it with all that got the email but never was a GVH customer.
All this to establish a timeline....

Yeah, i know, I should get some sleep ... getting silly again.

Maybe someone could post the email headers for this spam.

  • Holy Crap...
I hate spam as much as the next guy... but I wonder if this was not connected to GVH you guys would be coming here and feeding a whole topic out of one single spam email.
I get spam from allot of hosting companies..Allot! next to Viagra and Russian brides.. oh and the occasional spam about some ladies bags at 5% the price... which I can probably bargain to 2% the price if I buy some viagra on the side and promise to offer the bag as a gift to a Russian bride.

Guys, after some investigation here is what I found. I had supplied the seo company with a list of emails that i had extracted from databses backups on my computer for nexim. Looks like it included the solusvm databse from gvh when i was working with them. I take responsiblilities for everything that happened and I should have been more careful about filtering which backups to scrape emails from.

So yes, I did make a mistake and learnt from it, and I apologize to everyone who got the emails. I did not mean to do any harm or cause any trouble, and I should have been more careful.

Why do you have that info?

Thats where i made a mistake, i thought i had deleted all gvh related files when I quit, but looks like that one remained over and that is what caused all this.

  • ksubedi said: I should have been more careful about filtering which backups to scrape emails from.

Shouldn't you also be more careful about which backups you have on your personal computer?

Yes I should have, thats where i messed up and I am apologize for my actions.

That Bullcrap really is not going to convince anyone. Your post history does you no favours either.

There is no SEO company. You did this is my own view although, there is no "SEO company".

  • Not very believable mind you. Accidentally having a customer database too. That's the kind of thing that can get a company heavily fined.

believe what you want, my point is not to convince you anything. i am just being honest and taking responsibilities for my actions, and it was not the seo companies fault since the emails came from the list i supplied.

  • Speechless...

  • Somebody's got a terribly efficient 'backup' system. The NSA is always hiring.

You changed stories midway... What happened to "I have no idea where the SEO company got the email list"?

Now repent and offer everyone 96% discount in true GVH style and everyone will forget about this "incident".

Not enough. A 5000% discount would make me have a try of his services, though, provided I can have a refund of my outstanding account balance.

The email was sent out to the list i supplied + theirs. Originally I had thought the gvh cusomters came from their list, but I was wrong.

    Of course.

  • I wish I'd never fucking found this site, seriously. Nothing has shaken my faith in humanity more than the stuff I've found out through this forum.
