0xdragon: I'll keep an eye on the thread then - if that should work out with the paid version, you'll have one customer for sure.

Also just added above some information about the community edition, and the latest release.

  • Almost a no-brainer at $4 a year.

    Thanked by 10xdragon
  • @0xdragon: Any technical details about the website monitoring? And how much backup space do you actually provide? I guess you also don't have "unlimited" drives :)

Open source forked website monitoring. I'll have a "Backup Only" plan on the website later today for people that just want enterprise-level backups :)

It'll be 50GB on the "Special" Plan (@ $2 a month, it's a crazy steal for OnApp) with no throttling/capping/other marketing tricks that other brands do. Not to mention you have Observium and website hosting too..

Interesting, I'll add that to the list of possible options :)

  • Nice idea and cheap on top of that, will probably be picking this up.

  • @0xdragon where did you find the new community release? latest I can see is April ( http://observium.org/wiki/Download_Community_Edition )

Hello mate, they haven't updated that page yet. You can see on the main page the details of the latest community release.

Observium Community is distributed via 6-monthly .tar.gz releases under the QPL Open Source license. The most recent release is 0.14.11 (21st November 2014) based on SVN revision 6000.

The link is: http://www.observium.org/observium-community-latest.tar.gz which is correct, and looking at the timestamp, it's the correct date :)

  • Whoah! Count me in :-)

If you need a tester, let me know

    Thanked by 10xdragon
  • You know what, 0xdragon? Already these 50GB of backup space for 2$ are a good offer and a hosted Observium is also nice. Even when it isn't going to be the paid version. Count me in and same as cassa, drop me a message if there's something to test!

  • @0xdragon ok now just get it going so we can give you our money :P

Things are going well, the backup system is almost in place and the first location (Scranton, PA) is currently running through tests. Sydney- Australia, Atlanta, US or a CA location and an undecided EU location will also come online shortly. These locations may be at a higher price due to the resource cost.

    Thanked by 2Crab NeoXiD
  • What you can't do that price in Sydney.... what a surprise :O maybe @Oliver can help you out?

Mate, it's your own installation of Observium. Go insane, as long as you don't hit the limits (which will be explained further tomorrow once I have the next part of the site up) :)

    Thanked by 1cassa
  • @0xdragon: Only 40GB for 2$/mo, liar! :p (jk)

  • 0xdragon said: Go insane, as long as you don't hit the limits

    LIMITS??!!1!!

  • @Nekki said:

Yes, even the extortionate price of $4/year has limits :) But they will be clearly outlined!

    Oops, my bad!

Plans have been updated and pressing buy on the $4/yr plan will tell you about the quotas :)

    Thanks!

@0xdragon: Looks great! Just update the < title > tag ;)

  • Down for Maintenance (Err 3)
We are currently performing maintenance and will be back shortly.

    :(

It works for the $4 service. The others are giving that error.

I do not want the $4 one, I want the $12 one :)

  • @Termiet @Darwin You can't buy them yet, afaik. He just added a first informational page for the 4$ service, I'm sure the other 2 pages will follow. None of the products can be ordered yet though.

  • If purchase for $4, when another plan available, can upgrade?
