All of my VPS went down just now (on sapphire and diamond nodes), control panel unresponsive aswell.

  • DamianDamian Member

Not sure what's going on yet, just woke up from a nap to 600mbit spikes and unresponsive sapphire. Looking into it now.

My server is up. The CP is wrong.

    Control panel is back.

  • DamianDamian Member

Sapphire was null-routed for a 600mbit incoming DDOS. Things are back online now.

  • @Damian: at least the datacenter didn't freak out .

anyone living nearby can shake @Damian ? :P

How long has Diamond been down? I'm not monitoring uptime for it...

  • DamianDamian Member

Diamond went down around 1240pm CST (-5 UTC). There were some kernel issues causing this:

    10:32:13 up 20:04, 2 users, load average: 409.87, 301.63, 148.86

So we rebooted the server. Now it's not accessible, and apparently no one staffs the datacenter on Sunday (yay! I love learning new things this way!), so we're trying to get someone there to plug in KVM for us to check it out.

  • LAKidLAKid Member

@Damian This is not right, constant downing, etc.
You'd better get the hell out of there, look for some stable DC like Kansas or something.

  • yomeroyomero Member

    LOL 400 load ftw!

    @Damian

Its a warning for everyone. With DC's you tend to get what you pay for and unfortunately it seems like your nodes right now need some TLC to keep them online.

Once you're back to normal you can probably go ahead and start opening nodes in cheaper locations etc.

@Zen said: @LAKid you can't keep blaming it on the DC

i think what @LAKid meant by that is DC near home. That way things are better in some way, you don't have to rely much on DC support as you can always drop there fast and fix things.
