Indeed, economies of scale are probably in crowded asian cities, okay, americans have so me too, but, while fast internet is available there, it is not so cheap.

That's nothing, i have 1gbps for same money, but speeds over 500 mbps are only happening close by. I rarely go over 100 on other continents.

In Romania you can get home internet 1Gigabit Romania Local, and 100Mb/s external connection for just $19 per month
I pay $12 For 8 Mbps/m in sri lanka, 35 GB Bw
$50/mo for 15/2 via local cable ISP in USA, capped to 250GB during peak hours after which you're billed $1/GB extra
$33 for 1 Mbps / month in Mauritius

I pay about $100 (6000INR) for 100mbps connection. Sadly it is capped to around 200gb

This is my buddy's house, 1gbit up/down for $113.00 / month ... wish I could get it for my house, even though I live just 30 miles away i flip the bill for his ISP and I get to run my half rack in his basement.
I'm paying over $30 a month in the Alaska,US for a 8/3 mbps, and using directv services.
America = Continent
North America = Cheap internet (some exceptions)
South America = Cheap to really expensive internet (I'm paying 37USD/m for 150/10, without cap in Chile)
