    @Maounique the j1800 CPU only has 4 PCI-e lanes coming out of the CPU, so it is hard to have many / big PCI-e slots with it.

    Ah, didnt imagine it would be so crippled, good ole Intel boys like that, however, not even PCI 2.2? So-dimm for desktop boards? No DVI output?

  • rds100rds100 Member

    "PCI" is now old technology. It is only supported via PCI-E to PCI bridges in the modern systems.

    Right, perhaps should stop using pervious decade system boards.

    142sk1 is 1H-low in gra

    Those ordering the 5 EUR server right now, will get it in Gravelines not Roubaix.

    ...aaaaand they're gone.

    My last order is still in validation, but says it has expired.
    Do I order again or not?

  • Typical, apply on the 06/05/2014 for acc validation. Send through documents SEVERAL times. Only get approved now (and they didn't even bother to tell me, but I checked and its done). so 13 days later I get approved and now no stock.

    Love the turnaround time.

    What's so special about Gravelines? :)

    Nothing really, a bit different connectivity (though a lot of stuff probably will go via Roubaix anyway), a bit closer to London, but one important thing to consider, if you have multiple servers with them, do you want them to be in different DCs for redundancy, or in the same DC for the lowest possible ping between the two. Both cases are possible depending on your usage scenarios, and too bad they don't give a choice of DC when you order -- what remains is only to catch such moments when the DC you want is shown as available, and the other one is not.

    See their DCs here: http://www.ovh.com/fr/apropos/datacentres.xml
    with the current crop of 5 EUR Atoms, if you get a Roubaix one, it's most likely RBX5.

    It's the newer DC.

    How can i check in which dc my server is located @rm_

  • rm_rm_ IPv6 Advocate, Veteran
    edited May 2014

    @skyhost in your control panel on the main screen it shows "Datacentre", also the Rack and server ID.

  • earlearl Member

    Saw some i3 at BHS today.. I wish I would have waited instead of buying both my servers at RBX!

    By running the script I posted above http://lowendtalk.com/discussion/comment/580087/#Comment_580087
    It does not output anything when there is no stock.

  • Stocks are currently being replenished.

    New availability in a few hours.

    script is set to output someting only when there is stock... Here is a modified version that I use...

    #!/usr/bin/php
    <?php
    `$url = "http://ws.ovh.com/dedicated/r2/ws.dispatcher/getAvailability2";`
    $f = file_get_contents($url);
    `$a = json_decode($f);`
    $avail = $a->answer->availability;
    `foreach($avail as $s) {` ` if($s->reference==='142sk1') {` ` $z = $s->zones;` ` foreach($z as $zone) {` ` if($zone->availability!=='unavailable') {` ` echo $s->reference . " is " . $zone->availability . " in " . $zone->zone . "\n";` `}` `else { echo "No availability"; }`
    }
    break;
    }
    }

    Just wondering wtf are you going on about, OVH doesn't have any UK DCs (sorry if this comes as a shock...), nor is the availability separate between UK/FR/other sites.

    rm_ said: Just wondering wtf are you going on about,

    What I meant, is that the KS-1 plan was available in France from the UK site. I believed that in the past I've seen differences in where plans are available.

    Well fuck me, never knew that, thanks so much fountain of knowledge!

    For the avoidance of doubt, I love you long-time, but you're a condescending arse at times.

    Don't ever change.

    Briefly, by mistake. I ordered one and they ended up refunding me. Don't think anyone got one.

    Well, I emailed them twice.. so it could either be 7 or 13 days since I'm not sure whether they were responding to the first or second email I sent them.
