The cost of power & transit.
As I said, when they list her offers here, they surely make less profit then her US friends! The question was why are there fewer EU VPS offers here on LET. One part of the answer is: Because due to the fact that you have to list prices here below $7, and not below €7!
And in this moment the current EUR/USD exchange rate is eating up a lot of profit for European providers. Consequences are: fewer offers from European providers...
I dont think it has anything to do with it. Sure, lower exchange rate for a currency, better sales for the country, but that was always so.
The 7 $ limit was always there, there are offers in EU for below 7 $ even if priced in Euros or GBP, the simple truth is that EU has higher costs and it is much harder to do business here as an individual without a company. A company has some costs associated with it, there is also the VAT and higher IP costs.
On the other hand, EU companies, due to the fact they usually are companies and not some kid with a P4 from basement, tend to be more reliable and dont drop so easily due to higher cost to enter the business. Also, EU DCs (apart from very few) are reliable and tend to respect the contracts, whereas in US the high cost of litigation gives them carte blanche usually, in the idea that if you dont like it, you are free to go.
Rather than EU Hosts, Asia Hosts are harder to find.
Most things are more expensive in countries that are part of the European Union, stupid taxes... also a shortage of IPs make the IPs expensive.
