My backups if present are on same drive in a folder called backup
Size Queen.
who needs backups
It's not, but it permits 2nd disk failure which may occur during rebuild
yes true, but we are talking about extreme lowend architectures. I would also rather have raid 1+0 with netapp filestore with a bigIP firewall, but that would add to the costs considerably.
@DediRock Hoping everything goes well, and I purchased five VPS instances from you, including two 1.5TB storage-optimized VPS instances.
Hey @zed
We try to keep prices competitive
Thank you for the comment.
Hey @Carlin0 how ya been man? Yep was able to get talk to @ITChristian to make sure all was okay. Thanks!
Hey @zed,
Yes, we had opened tickets to all customers affected when the incident happened. Since then, we actually now send out updates from the the Virtualizor system in order to communicate things faster.
Thanks!
Hey @ShalaWorks we continue to dial things in
Out of the 29 storage nodes we have now, all but 2 are fully upgraded to RAID-5
So that is a step in the right direction!
Also I did check your INV 28830 and the node that VM is on, I was able to add 1GB extra ram, just reboot your server and you should see it!

The DediRam Special™
Hello! @fluffernutter in addition to making it Off The IPV6 Hall Of Shame™ we are almost fully upgraded to RAID-5 across all storage nodes. Only 2 left to upgrade and that is in progress
Thanks for the comment!
great!!!
Although I have suffered from data loss once, everything will run well in the future (no compensation), but I am very satisfied with the service you provide at this price.
I hope you can maintain a good operating condition. After all, there are not many service providers who offer transactions of less than $7/y. I wish you all the best!
thanks for that
I thought the stripes were just marks from the whips.
That's true, BUT: If I'm not mistaken we're talking about a storage server here that is, a server with one single job, to - hopefully reliably - store data. To offer a storage server without redundancy in the drives aka Raid 1, 5 or 60 (or 10/50/60, but certainly not on a dirt cheap one) is, frankly, utterly nonsensical and unprofessional.
I get it, how to offer that for $7/yr is a major problem for a provider.
My advice to @ITChristian is to expressly ask for the disk setup and to walk away if it's not reasonably professional.
FWIW I have 2 backup servers from reliable top-providers, one from @host_c and the other one on an AlphaVPS / @AlexBarakov dedi (Raid 1). And with neither I've lost a single byte in years.
That $7 thingy of @DediRock I did not even look at.
that is a great idea @budi1413
maybe a new product
Hey @ITChristian,
Glad we could get everything all sorted out, have a great weekend, thanks for your patience and understanding.

Hello @WebProject,
That is true, data loss can still happen even with RAID, thanks for the comment.
Yup! Getting closer to the migrations and updates to RAID5 being done
All new nodes (5 new ones here shortly) are RAID5 now.
Thanks

@fluffernutter Goals
Have a great weekend man, thx for the comment.
Hey @aRNoLD,
How are you man? Yes, we were working on a WHMCS upgrade, got it all done! Thanks for your patience and sorry for any inconvenience caused, have a great day and weekend!
The DediRock Family™
Hello @ITChristian,
Awesome man, thank you very much for the compliment, correct, most nodes are now upgraded to RAID5. All new ones moving forward, will all be RAID5 from the start, thanks again, have a great weekend.
Thanks
Hello @dbadude,
Thank you and awesome to hear, have a great weekend!

Hello @NotFoundException,
Yes, RAID0 was a bit intense, having RAID5 is much better
Thanks!
back to @budi1413's idea
Working on the enterprise solution soon!
A little like drinking milk 1 day after the expiration date.....
Def glad to we are doing the upgrades to RAID5
Thx @nameserver,
I am thinking about doing some sort of offer on backups, so customers can have more than one storage VM on different nodes, and maybe a higher limit on bandwidth, etc, thanks!
The DediRock Family™
lol excellent @plumberg
Thx @dbadude,
Something for me to look into
I have also been getting lots of requests to add a small SSD drive for the OS.
Thanks!
