Surely he is not the only one doing this, I have been wary of trustpilot for years

Irony is that as a merchant I already had two reviews from legitimate customer being removed by TrustPilot itself. I have tried contacting them, customers tried, but no luck, they didn't return the review. The biggest problem that in total there are only 4 reviews, and these two lost are very noticeable lose.

Organic reviews at the forums are the best option.

Trustpilot removed at the very least half of my reviews. I should have double what I have.

I wouldn't be surprised if it were because of VPNs and crypto. I tried to review @MannDude on trustpilot, but they flagged it and even after I uploaded a paid invoice as proof that I was a customer, they never responded to me.

The common denominator between @tentor , @servers_guru , and @MannDude is that many customers are privacy-aware VPN and crypto users. For what it's worth, my invoice said crypto, and I had an active VPN.

Tbh I doubt this is the case because impacted customer wasn't paying in crypto, but could be a good guess

Yes probsbly that. Also we do not allow trustpilot to send email to our customers ( we do not use their plug-ins) to protect the privacy of our customers. So every review shows as "redirected" or from nowhere. Which probsbly doesn't help.

I don't have any kind of integration with them and don't sharing customers' data with them (including email addresses) either

It could just be something with the reputation of the company, as in, automatic suspicion about people who cater to the pro-privacy market.

Was it a good review or bad review? I've seen cases where I get an email about a new 5 star review and then I go to check our profile and it's missing. TrustPilot is weird. I think I've only successfully had a one "bad" review removed because it was a 1 star from someone bitching about our pricing or being out of stock or something, not even a customer. Just some, "hrr drr this cant be a serious business I cant even order a VPS" type of review, but that was some years ago.

Actually they have a way for you to be able to still send the official trustpilot review invitation without giving them the customer information.

But it's locked behind a 1000$+ monthly package lol.

Same thing with the email. I will check 2 days later and it is gone. Probably happen without exaggeration to 50% of our 5 stars reviews.

No way anyone will pay it to use review hosting platform and not require it to moderate reviews the way merchant wishes it to (pay to win)

Ah I see. Yeah, TrustPilot is weird like that. Interestingly enough since all this CH drama I've received two new TrustPilot reviews in a short period. We don't list our URL anywhere public, either. One was from someone who also reviewed CH and the other looks new.

I do pay for trustpilot.. Because they bullied me into paying or being forced to remove my trustpilot review score on our website..

But we already talked about that :)

I'm bound by an NDA so can't go into great detail but I know of one provider who did pay this and could get negative reviews removed. That's all that i'll say on the matter and will not confirm nor deny any guesses.

  • NDA? is it something like lavabit got years ago?

"The main thing that distinguishes IncogNET from other anonymous hosting providers and domain registrars is that they are not afraid to host political/polarizing content and are total supporters of free speech. I have never heard of IncogNET stealing anyone's domains or blocking them from accessing their VPS, unlike what I have seen in reviews of Njal.la, for example. 1984.hosting was another interesting option, but I did not go with them because I was not sure what their policies on free speech and content were. IncogNET, on the other hand, is 100% transparent about their policies and have laid them out here:

    https://portal.incognet.io/knowledgebase/9/What-is-your-stance-on-free-speech.html

And as any company in their field should, IncogNET boasts good VPS speeds, reasonable prices, and fast, friendly support. Not sure what the guy below me is talking about re: not fulfilling orders or responding to tickets. I leave my tickets at the default priority (Medium) and they always get answered within 48 hours, even though IncogNET says that they can theoretically take up to 72 hours. I have also never been declined orders, and I have always been able to access to my servers and my domains' DNS records within 1 hour of purchase.

Overall, I highly recommend IncogNET if you want freedom, not just in terms of privacy, but also in terms of what you say and how you express yourself online."

I bet he jumped from CH to you or smth like that...no offense but ur way cooler.

Edit: Not to speculate too hard but the CH review is from November 2024 and the Incognet one is from January 2025...just sayin...

Perhaps not, but it is awfully convenient timing for him to be emailing about this bribe, right as his unethical business practices are coming to light.

He's not the first trust me... I just don't want to name names

    Yeah others do it too.

Had a provider here offer plan upgrades for those that contacted their support. Contacted them as an existing customer and they asked that in exchange I post a review here. I didn’t want to partake in some forced review for kickback deal, so ignored the offer, but saw someone else post a review within the hour.

Not interested in being drawn into any drama so I won’t say who it was, but for sure this isn’t unheard of by any stretch.

I think I've only successfully had a one "bad" review removed because it was a 1 star from someone bitching about our pricing or being out of stock or something, not even a customer. Just some, "hrr drr this cant be a serious business I cant even order a VPS" type of review, but that was some years ago.

Yes, it was 5 stars. I might have it saved on file. If so, I'll post it here somehow.

No wonder Trustpilot hated this review :D

Damn, that's a good review! Wish it was live. If I had to wager a guess, it was probably removed by them for mentioning other brands or something. Hard telling.

Bro @MannDude the page that got linked in the review still has references to Finland

Ur not selling Finland VPSes actively right?

Oh lol. Haven't had Finland VPSes in a lonnnnng time. That was back when we were with Hetzner. I'll update that page when I go home.

While you're here.

How many times is it going to take before the admins actually take action? I note that this is what... The third thread about this host? Claw cloud is counting up on "drama" threads too and I'm seeing a small imbalance of things between certain other hosts that got immediately sent to the morgue over their failures and issues... Meanwhile CH has been dragged through the mud but yet to be killed off (for better or for worst... I have my own opinion and it's not great).

I also hope you're doing good.
