    Any chance to see some DA/Reseller dealz for the flash sales?

    And after tuning:

    iperf3 Network Speed Tests (IPv4):
    ---------------------------------
    Provider | Location (Link) | Send Speed | Recv Speed | Ping

    Leaseweb        | NYC, NY, US (10G)         | 6.62 Gbits/sec  | 7.42 Gbits/sec  | 83.6 ms
    Edgoo           | Sao Paulo, BR (1G)        | 5.01 Gbits/sec  | 1.14 Gbits/sec  | 193 ms

    Nice improvement in speed to most distant locations, like Tashkent, Singapore, NYC... Close locations (<20 ms away) haven't improved, 'cause they don't need any special tuning to be fast.

    @Motion3549

    You always need this:

    net.ipv4.tcp_congestion_control = bbr
    net.core.default_qdisc = fq
    net.ipv4.tcp_ecn = 0

    Generally, I'm not sure ecn needs to be explicitely disabled, since aparently BBR is not using it, still I do it...

    And then socket buffer tuning:

    net.core.rmem_max = 67108864
    net.core.wmem_max = 67108864
    net.ipv4.tcp_rmem = 4096 131072 67108864
    net.ipv4.tcp_wmem = 4096 16384 67108864

    This is what allows high speed transfers on long distances.

    Finally, this won't show on any benchmark, but oh boy does it make a difference if you have a real service that occassionaly sends packets on long distance. Took me a lot of time to see the effect in practice, but once I did, I started always applying it:

    net.ipv4.tcp_slow_start_after_idle = 0

    I guess that's it, networking wise.

    Thank you for the network tuning tips. I think this is all I need for now.

    Here are the GB5 benchmark results for the EPYC 9655 VPS from another provider

    Refund it back if you don’t like it.

    But what price do you pay for the other provider? Same/similar? Hosts can control CPU limits at the hypervisor level.

    Calling it poor performance is a large stretch, especially when most hosts here don’t even exceed 1000 on GB6.

    Dude, this ain't normal performance at all. The AES-XTS is performing like crap, which proves something's definitely wrong here. The disk read/write speeds are way off too. Maybe you're just used to those crappy low-performance servers

Maybe you're just used to those crappy low-performance servers

    while you might be onto something, man... you're in full panic mode, just don't forget that you have 7 days to refund, don't take your life because you found a bug in GB or something like that :D

    Here, do this on both your turin's and show how crap this one is, i don't have 2 turins to compare, but you can:

    # openssl speed -evp aes-128-xts
    [...]
    type             16 bytes     64 bytes    256 bytes   1024 bytes   8192 bytes  16384 bytes
    AES-128-XTS    1129156.79k  3811952.23k  7514381.48k 11155585.71k 13042322.09k 13371479.38k

    what? it's gb5 in your previous text not gb6

    Here are the GB5 benchmark results for the EPYC 9655 VPS from another provider

    I would suggest you request a refund. If there is a issue then let me know and I can look into it but it's not the attitude to come and call crap.

    You're seeing a few hundred difference score in only Geekbench 5 and you are acting like it's the worst service ever.

    I don't know why you also day the disks perform poorly. I can enable writeback caching for you and you'll see blazing speeds but then you just risk data corruption if your system unexpectedly crashes.

  • @labze Any hint on what the flash deals will be? Compute? Storage? Memory? Something else?

    If it’s something I’m not in the market for then it’d save me the hassle of having to refresh frequently.

  • 2 questions regarding:

    @labze said: 1 TB Block Storage available for €2/month ($2.5/month) per 1 TB HDD Storage! (Open ticket to request this)

    if block storage is attached to VPS, can it be later detached (in case customer changes his mind)?

    can block storage be prepaid for a year and enjoy the same discount as VPS, i.e. 20€/year/TB?

    reguards
