What kind of stuff are people doing on xp? Pretty wild
I feel like if that's the direction I want to go I'd put on some older puppy Linux image or something
run old apps in the environment they were created on/for, for nostalgic purposes? you know.. the good ol' days.
I started programming at 10, vb 4.0.. eventually moved to Delphi (was only interested in creating windows applications at the time). There's something special about loading up those IDEs again in an older operating system. Although I preferred Windows NT/2000 over 95/98/me/xp etc
Any fw running? I hope you have a way to only allow 3389. ... And even then I dunno lol
turning the firewall back on, man, what firewall, it was exactly zip shit

I mean. iptables is firewall, and you can do a ton of stuff even back 2 decades ago, but windows and firewall, is like saying you have a 3cyl 1.0L engine that makes 300 HP and 400nm of torque.

THX @twain, you made my night a memorable one, I am laughing for the past 5 minutes.
that video was fuking awesome, jeesss.
And yet another provider doesn't get my business.
somehow Stuart forgot to change the price after merge?
had to remind him to do it
Shame right, billions lost …..
Do these come with backup slots?
Will you ignore the DMCA?
FWIW I now also did my small DB benchmark on a @host_c Ryzen VM:
For some context I'll also include results from my Xeon E5 v2 "stoneage" VPS and the host_c storage VM (Xeon Scale Gold I think).
Total number of records written into DB: 1.035.295, DB size: a bit over 1.4 GB
On both host_c servers the boot SSD/NVMe was used.
--- "stoneage VM" ---
Bo50: 353 sec. 996 ms
Bo6: 1.897 sec. 215 ms
--- host_c storage server (Xeon Scale Gold) ---
Bo50: 37 sec. 006 ms
Bo6 : 199 sec. 743 ms
--- host_c Ryzen server ---
Bo50: 15 sec. 479 ms
Bo6 : 88sec. 625 ms
So, the Ryzen VPS (promo'd here in this thread) is a bit over 2.5 times faster than the Xeon Scale Gold VPS and over 23 times faster than my Xeon E5v2 "stoneage" VPS with a decent but not high end SSD.
Funny but interesting side note:
The results on the storage drive (i.e. spinning rust but obviously brilliantly done) the results were better than on the boot drive (SSD). See for yourself:
--- host_c storage server, HDD ---
Bo50: 24 sec. 884 ms
Bo6 : 106sec. 025 ms

Very well done, indeed host_c, you and your products amaze me again!
nop, we do not do that. If we get notified, we will open a ticket and sort it out.
Thank you.
Also I wish to thank all of you that benchmark our services and notify us if there is something off, this helps us further improve on our products.
The addon drive on that AMD Ryzen is a Raid 10 Setup, nice to see that it can push some " juice"
Still need to find a way to add bigger diks to those AMD services.....

I'm late, everything is out of stock. Is it still possible for me to get it?
I need a 4tb promotion,2TB is too little. When will the new big memory promotion be launched
