lol so there was no reason? They just felt like it?

Sounds about right. Their TOS does say they can and will do that.

2.6. The contract may be terminated by either party with 30 days' notice to the end of the month, without specifying any reasons. Differing periods of notice may apply to the Customers depending on the description of relevant services. Notice of termination may be given in text form by letter, fax, email or via the Customer’s account on our secure customer interface.

I never know what these mid-size providers can provide that the small providers can't. They don't have the features and guarantees of big clouds. They don't have the price point of small providers. I also saw Hetzner users complaining in reddit that the ST accounting is disabled thus it always show 0.

We understand your frustration, and we’re sorry for the inconvenience and extra effort this issue has caused. In this case, a series of unfortunate coincidences led to this issue. The cancellation email we sent at the end of October was missed by the customer, which was beyond our control. Additionally, the termination date set for the end of the month, coincidentally fell on a Saturday, and the timeframe for deletion expired on a Sunday. We sincerely regret this sequence of events and the associated complications. However, we’ve been working on fixing the problem and have temporarily restored the servers that could be restored. And for our customers, we always assume that important data is backed up to prevent data loss in unforeseen scenarios.

While these circumstances were unusual, we recognize the need for improvement. We are committed to reviewing and optimizing our internal processes to prevent similar situations in the future. Account terminations from us are very rare, but not excluded in certain cases. We strive to be a reliable partner for our customers.

Hetzner has always had a very consistent track record of terminating accounts over false pretense, with little to no notice.

There was an incident a few months ago, when someone reported an image of two fully-clothed girls kissing on a fedi instance, claiming that it's child pornography. Hetzner then demanded that the entire instance be taken down within 24 hours.

They claimed that the fedi instance is focused on adult content, which is against Hetzner's TOS. The instance was meant to be a safe space for trans women and LGBT folks, and had absolutely no focus on such content at all.

They pull off this shit while continuing to ignore reports concerning pedophile sites, port scanning and exploit attempts coming from their network

The only surprising thing is that they responded twice here, this company exists only for private trackers to push hundrerds of TBs. Only a brainless tard would host a serious project there

can confirm none of my personal seedboxes at hetzner seeding stupid amounts of data for private trackers has ever been cancelled.

VPS or Dedi? Maybe because the data is not all sent to a single IP?

single ip per box, ancient auction boxes.
