UniFI is a fiber-based internet provider in Malaysia
OK so it's still Malaysia though.
As I said, I brought it up with Rob and we'll see where things go.
I'm still waiting for the OP to get back to me on if it was fine earlier in the week.
Francisco
i tested with streamyx no problem, i get full speed download with their speed test file
@Francisco that's what I said in the other thread:
on a 6mb line
From CC in Dallas
Oh don't use the buyvm.net URL, it's probably some crap with CNServers.
Use the speedtest.buyvm.net link and then let me know

streamyx = another malay ISP?
Sorry, I've been in the middle of work windows at the DC so I'm jumping back/forth on this thread!
Francisco
yup same ISP "tmnet" but copper base line
@Francisco
Try the 'buyvm.net' speedtest URL and see if it goes to hell as well.
I'm assuming you're just testing off your own VM? or off speedtest.buyvm.net?
Francisco
As per request, same locations:
There is a slight improvement but it could be attributed to the hour being different (lower traffic at this time).
wow, noticed the 7M/s sped buyvm - SPAIN. What sorcery is this?
streamyx is also another internet packaged offered by tmnet. LOL.
@maounique - Is that going to Incero or to EU? If it's going to EU use a bigger file. In my own tests it takes a few seconds to pickup then it'll haul to 10 - 20MB/sec, depending on the provider.
Francisco
Slightly Better...
No, both to EU, first Amsterdam DO second my home 1 gbps best-effort line.
I can do extensive tests since I have a lot of VMs around the globe, but this was about transcontinental speeds and tested in the non-prometeus terminals i had open
I will do now the 100 file.
EDIT:
You are right, it does fluctuate if you have time to look at it.
EDIT 1:
Those are not idle connections, there is some traffic on them I do not have idle connections normally.
Thanks!
Do a trace and pastebin it too.

Spain is from Ginernet @jmginer
@Maounique - I've seen the same jumping around even on the west coast.
I was testing Voxility's test files and saw the same.
Could I get more traces from the people that are iffy right now?

This is using one of my vps in Indonesia, but with low international bandwidth :
I don't know, I am used with 10-20 % not 5 times the lowest speed.
I was not testing from voxility, but from rds, my 1 gbps best-effort line at home. I will add voxility later on I am eating now
Cachefly has asia based POP's so I'm not sure what to say. Given the 'low international' speed, is this normal or do you break past > 100K? What counts as international? overseas or even within Asia?
Francisco
@Francisco, usually, Indonesian vps provider only can maxed out at 512Kb/s, not much of them can reach 1Mb/s. But usually, most of them can only having maximum 100Kb/s.
For a dedicated server, some of them can give 1Mb/s up to 4 Mb/s. But that would be at a very high price.
But, if we use an usb modem, we can get about 7Mb/s or maybe 21Mb/s, depends on the hardware.
KB or Kbit? 512Kbit would make sense with cachefly.
Francisco
I got an
average of 120KB/s for downloading http://speedtest.buyvm.net/100mb.test
average of 140KB/s for downloading http://cachefly.cachefly.net/100mb.bin
My ISP is http://www.smartfren.com/ina/connex-evo/
512 Kbit
My VPS seemed slow as well, here's from Sweden:
