You got me intrigued and I checked from some other locations in Europe, and got only worse numbers (290 ms, 315 ms...). The above should be Leaseweb, SG LG (194.127.192.241).

There's some cable cuts in Singapore, maybe that's affecting. Or it's shitty routing 🤣

There are some issues with latency from the EU to APAC recently. The latency sometimes exceeds 300ms, whereas it's usually around 220ms. This seems to affect other providers' EU upstreams/locations as well.

Yes, I believe this is a more generel issue.

When you reported this, I checked my monitoring and there wasn't any issues. But several hours later, I started getting some alerts, and noticed the same behavior as you, which hasn't stopped until now. Quite high jitter occassionaly and packet loss observed. Since these anniversary deals come with so little traffic included, it's hard to believe that network is monopolized, rather it looks like some other subtle issue. I opened a ticket yesterday and hopefully it will get fixed soon.

Same observation, higher loss/jitter + CPU steal than in the days before these "anniversary deals". Router problem, attack, or probly also the cheapos tickling their new toy with YABS. Let's hope the issue subsides in the coming weeks, as soon as it gets back to idling servers - or the first few ©abuse start raining.

I am observing the network quality on the server over the coming days. There is quite a bit of run on the server at the moment due to a huge influx of orders in the last two days.

I did not at all expect this server to be filled anytime soon, but apparently some traffic from a Twitter account caused a 10x increase in visitors and a large amount of orders. There's likely going to be a restock throughout next week.

From my point of view, having new customers will be great for HostBrr, it will give you more income to improve the infrastructure you already have, and this is very favorable for you, and for us, in getting more comfortable prices, and with good server options to choose from.

I'm sure that in these days you will solve all these problems that you witnessed for the new customers and you can surprise us with more promotions on your anniversary, that for sure you will have many more new customers.

  • Shot2Shot2 Member

...or it could go the other way, overworked one-man stuff going fubar once money/customers/issues start piling up, or barely surviving to become disreputable overcrowded crap without a billionaire or state subsidizing it. Nothing unseen before on LET.
Which is why "insane deals" repeating every few weeks is not necessarily good omen.

my NICE-EPYC (with win server 2022) is far away from 10gbps. is there anything else to consider in the windows settings?

No, it's in the NTT Datacenter in Frankfurt with incoming traffic routed through Aurologic.

My server also does like 800 Down and 300Up. Far away from 10Gbit.

I think the DDOS protection is too sensitive, maybe @labze can comment on this.
When I first got it, I noticed the first speed test I do hits 8-9Gbps. Then suddenly I am disconnected. When I reconnect again, speeds are sub 1Gbps and the latency is also increased. On the first day, it would restore pretty fast to normal, but now I think thats not the case.

sounds conclusive. i can confirm similar observations.

Spot on. I had only configured part of one subnet for 10 Gbps as I expected this to be enough to accomodate the demand for quite a while. However, all IPs in this subnet was quickly used. I deployed another subnet and raised a ticket to change the mitigation threshold early friday expecting it to be resolved the same day. Unfortunately still waiting for Aurologic to update this.

Certainly not the expected performance. Might have misconfigured the storage, but too late to diagnose if canceled. For some any issues are not acceptable, and thats fair.

it seems that ddos (or something similar filter) is extra sensitive and download rate drops and comes back up after few seconds and then drops again ....

In the beginning the performance was better, but I cancelled it because having backups relying on a one person provider could be a bad idea.

You didn't bother to reach out to support?

Certainly not the expected performance. Might have misconfigured the storage, but too late to diagnose if canceled. For some any issues are not acceptable, and thats fair.

    @labze
it seems that ddos (or something similar filter) is extra sensitive and download rate drops and comes back up after few seconds and then drops again ....

Indeed. Awaiting a resolution from Aurologic as this is a IPv4 only issue for some IPs. Not all are affected

First priority now is handling some outstanding tickets and sorting networking then I'll post more deals.

@gemini90 said: There are some issues with latency from the EU to APAC recently. The latency sometimes exceeds 300ms, whereas it's usually around 220ms. This seems to affect other providers' EU upstreams/locations as well.

    I believe it's this incident: https://www.gslstatus.com/incidents/ndwm63910x0c

It'll take weeks to fix that, but you can subscribe and follow progress.

  • I'm very satisfied so far. The performance is great and their customer support has been really helpful. My only complaint would be regarding the bandwidth pricing. For the price I paid for the server itself, it seems quite high to get any additional bandwidth. Like if I wanted an extra 5 TB of transfer, it would cost nearly as much as the server! I find that ratio a bit odd. But other than that, I'm a happy.

Great deals. Yet i can't find any service could be used for those servers. 🤔

    And, they're all gone 😔

Appreciate the feedback. Due to bandwidth costs in the new datacenter I do have to be (much) more conservative with the allowance at least initially until I determine an approximate usage. Otherwise I could risk having quite a huge loss of these deals, and that is not good when I plan to be in business for many years to come :-)
