It does. Kids don't have the same experience and knowledge as adults who have taken a relevant education and have relevant working experience.
It's a bad idea when inexperienced people develop billing systems and hosting panels. And others use them in production because the lack of security puts their customers at risk.
Paymenter is a good example of why. Passwords are visible in the panel which is a security risk and it pretty much shows that security isn't a priority or the person behind this project doesn't know better.
Thanks for the warning.
Yes, but do their customers know?
Oh, so it's only people who have developed a billing system are allowed to have an opinion about this.
It sounds like you are a minor who got offended because I used the word kid.
@xvps although I get what you are trying say, in the uk you can run your own company at age 16. You can’t claim a decent minimum wage as those very slightly older but that’s a different discussion.
We prefer WHMCS for our billing system - mostly satisfied.
@xvps Please stop spreading misinformation. The screenshot you provided is not from the paymenter billing panel. If you have any concerns about the security of the panel you are more then welcome to seek contact with someone who can provide such information.
This isn't Paymenter 🤔
This is Blesta, can't blame Blesta themselves, module should be blamed.
I don't see a reason with having the plaintext password there, should be reset once you login to Ptero.
Still trash.
Yes, I somehow mixed up the two.
It's the Pterodactyl module that exposes the password.
Hostbill has "all inclusive" approach if you go for the datacenter version, you do not need to buy and integrate 10's of plugins from different providers.
It also can do everything you can think of and has a proper EU billing.
Regarding the pricing, it is quite cheap if you have an existing customer base and need a few modules. The recurring cost of Hostbill is 125$ / Year, unrelated to the number of customers that you have.
The only problem we see with hostbill is the look and feel of the admin UI and the difficulty to get the prebuild templates / orderforms go along aothether. (there is a lack of up to date thems and it is more difficult to integrate than whmcs).
