Nice offer. Still have my Bero-Host ideling.

I've got both now (..idling). Other than the disk, this seems better on CPU & network. Overall pretty great so far.

Same here. Just got one. At this price, with monthly payment, without worries about losing your house, and having no projects at all, you just can't go wrong. The IP contains too many 4s, and I love it!

    They are still in stock.

@PrepaidHost Do you have or plan to have an English dashboard?

Yes, the whole thing is planned, but it will take some time until it is ready. We are currently building an API First application with multi languages.

    You from China?

Hey, what happens if node fails and wont boot?

This offer has CEPH which means that VPS can be recreated on another node automatically? Or you need to do it manually?

Im curious what CEPH does in your case.
Automatic migration to another node? More flexibility with disk sizes? Option for block storage in future?

With CEPH it is expected to have such disk speeds, because disk isnt connected directly in server, but rather network connected in separate server. This additional layer in communication slowns everything down and you cannot reach same speeds as NVMe directly in server.

It should be a problem with this amount of RAM. Linux will cache/buffer accessed files and they will sit in RAM. RAM is 25GB/s (DDR4 3200) and has more than 1000x shorter latency than NVMe. Yes, more than 1000x. Thats why you see such big slowdown in RESPONSIVENESS if you run out of RAM.

I prefer to have more RAM than faster disk, this offer is unbeatable. 26GB for that price...
Whole website with all images can be cached in RAM.

I don't think any provider in Germany accepts torrents. Sorry, but I personally don't like torrents, either in priavte or public.

Ceph has proven itself for us in recent years. Whether it was with failures of a host system, but also with the available storage on the systems. If a server fails, we have to intervene manually and see what we do. Block Storage is on the To Do for the future, but will still take some time until we can offer this.

what's the bandwidth limit like 5tb.10tb ? leeching public torrent is allowed ?

We consider fair use to be approximately up to 5 TB. We do not accept Tor traffic. We have had this issue many times in the past, but have decided against it because it is legally difficult in Germany.

Is it possible to not pay VAT for people outside eu?

If I see correctly, the panel doesn't allow to select a billing country. So, from accounting perspective, all customers are assumed to reside in Germany?

Yes, this is currently still correct. We are planning to change the entire structure, but this is currently the case, yes.

what is next after consuming 5 TB, suspend?

  • Unlimited CPU usage allowed?

  • Is there no more?

This is a nice deal for certain workloads, but since the transit is cogent, there's loss on basically every route, including even to neighboring countries like France. So it's not appropriate for anything sensitive to loss.

Hi, traffic is not only obtained from cogent. Mostly via CDN77. Where did you get this information from?

I'm running MTRs to and from one of the servers I got. CDN77 apparently uses Cogent's network for various purposes, though it's not clear exactly to what extent. I have seen actual Cogent routers show up randomly in the MTRs though.

Either way, there has definitely been some amount of loss on all routes that I've tested, some much worse than others.

I was going to create a ticket and report the loss, but after seeing the random Cogent hops and realizing that CDN77 makes use of Cogent's network, I decided it would be pointless since everyone knows loss is expected when Cogent is involved.

I'll gladly create a ticket and provide some MTR results if you like.

We have just been able to make some space available for new servers. Have fun with the offer!

How do I actually order this ? Do I have to deposit credit first ? Because when I click order it says something like "not enough credits"

Yes exactly, you must first top up your credit at https://prepaid-host.com/transactions/add.
