I think these are the only ones that look interesting:
As others mentioned,
BFSETUP
waives the setup but sadly just for new customers.I am not a new customer.
Therefore I shall still complain.
I don't think Samsung will be beating those lol, some of the best SSDs on the market. Insane for the price
Edit: If anyone has a chance, I'd love to see
ioping -R
resultsI purchased KS-2-LE, which has 2x1.92TB SSD and 1G network bandwidth.
Which location is your server? GRA, RBX or BHS
Please run yabs and post your result
I chose "Western Europe, France, France (FR)" and was probably randomly assigned to GRA.
Look like it is in RBX?
The control panel shows GRA1.
I wouldn't trust any of the specs that OVH mentioned on their deal page. From last year's BF 2022 deals, the same KS-LE-1 had 32 GB ECC ram. Then it turns out that ECC was typo and not offered in the package. Hence my OVH Dashboard clearly says "32 GB ECC 1333 MHz". And the server has non-ECC ram.
I'm just letting it renew as I need some cheap dedi server.
Lucky you! Please let me know if you are interested in transferring the above server in the future. Drop me a message anytime, I am happy to pay you 30-50$. Thanks!
Sorry, I have a website I need to use and can't transfer it. I hope you'll be just as lucky.
Thanks. I just tried my luck with OVH lottery but it seems only 100 Mbps upload.
I ordered one and got the 2x1.92TB SSD but the advertised bandwidth
Don't rely on the pipe lottery win to last permanently. I rolled a KS-1 (the $5.99/mo one) with 800 down 800 up (well above the 100/100 advertised) earlier this year. We let the server idle since we were too busy to set it up, then when we got to it, it was throttled to 100/100 as advertised.
A friend of mine rolled a 1000/1000 on a Kimsurfi and it has remained that way for years, so YMMV in general.
Overall, the deals look good minus the lack of a discount for a 12 month commitment and the 100 mbps pipe. OVH really should double the pipes on all their Eco servers. A 100 mbps server often has worse speed than residential internet connections nowadays.
My friend too, the bandwidth could be modified back to 100M at any time.
I'm interested in Intel I7-7700K
Please share YABS result
Another interesting offer. On https://eco.us.ovhcloud.com/ I found they have US-based Ryzen promos. For $47/month with no commitment and no setup fee, they have a RISE-GAME-1-1 with Ryzen 5 3600X and 32GB memory, 2x512GB NVMe, and 250 Mbps upload (500 Mbps burst) in either Vint Hill, Virginia or Hillsboro, Oregon. Not sure if they had similar US-based offers before, but first time I've seen them. Too bad just 0.5 Gbit max. Also available for the same price in Canada, slightly higher in Europe.
I'm using that one in HIL from their last promotion at USD47 month-to-month, here is a yabs:
Thanks for the yabs. Woulda thought bandwidth would be better.
That receive bandwidth is horrible wtf. That's nowhere near 250 mbps. Even the cheap Eco boxes get better incoming (1000 mbps).
I've never seen a yabs from their Oregon location with impressive connectivity.
Picked up a SYS-LE-4 in BHS. 12TB disks are HGST Ultrastar DC HC520, decent power-on hours 13698 and 25278. Yabs:
Ah, yes, that's why I did a network-speed as well as some of those iperf servers froma aboves list are oversaturated (at least in Oct.):
A bit better, but not really perfect about ingress speed. Don't know if this is a OVH US issue as I never had a server in VIN or HIL before.
I won't lie this is actually pretty decent for a GAME server, considering even their main GAME line also has 250 mbps port limits. It's also available in Europe too, not just US locations.
It's strange how that offer isn't available on the non-US site though:
So you'd have to make an account on their US site, wait for it to be verified, and then purchase.... ugh.
Really expensive this year, I am saying: pass.
I bought KS-LE-1 on Black Friday 2022 and didn't experience any issues. It has 2x960GB storage, gigabit(up-down) IPV6, unlike the servers I previously purchased at 3-4 times the price which always had some problems, I haven't faced any issues with this one. There are websites receiving millions of daily traffic hosted on it, and I use IPV6-> Cloudflare and full page cache settings.
I can confirm that the KS-LE-1 2022 is an avesome deal. I bought a SYS-LE-1 to test in SBG but I don't decided that will I keep it. 250 Mbps upload 4x slower than my KS-LE-1 over IPv6, but CPU better, RAM ECC and 2x2 TB NVMe avesome. And SBG location latency is 20--24 ms for me, Gravelines is 40--46 from my ISP, DIGI. From another ISP, Telekom SYS latency near 20 ms and KS-LE-1 26--28. So hard decision:D
Previous KS-LE-1 is unbeatable, it is sad that OVH not giving IPv6 gigabit this year...
Does it come with IPMI?
IPMI Yes. I think only Kimsufi's don't.
Also, RAM is ECC DDR4, model
M391A2K43BB1-CTD
in the SYS-LE-4 that I got.
